12oz bottle, no date. Pours a clear gold color--suspect a bit of residue in the glass. It looks nothing like a saison. There is also only a one finger head that dissipates as quickly as it weakly perks up.
The smell is warm and yeasty, some sugar and spice--coriander and clove, a bit of cinnamon. The flavor follows, along with some banana, smooth malt, and a warm buzz of alcohol on the finish.
This beer demonstrates solid complexity, and is quite drinkable despite the somewhat high ABV. A solid America version of the style.
