Formerly Loose Cannon - American Hop3 Ale
Burnished gold with a rich citrus hop aroma, it is wonderfully drinkable with a big hop flavor. We’ve knicknamed it Hop3 (hop cubed) ale to reflect the enormous amount of hops in this beer: over 3 pounds per barrel! It is hopped 3 ways: in the kettle, in the hop back, and dry hopped.

Consumed 4/20/11
Appearance: Clear, a gold/orange color more towards gold - nicely carbonated, nice lacing
Smell: An interesting mix of hops - mostly oranges and resin - some sweet malts - lightly biscuity
Taste: Hoppy and bitter, yet somehow sweet and refreshing - very heavy on the hops, mostly orange (without being too citrusy) and resin - malts are on the pale side, and they are sweeter than average - somehow, they offer some balance - some interesting fruitiness to this, too
Mouthfeel: Medium body, nicely carbonated and smooth
Overall: Great, an interesting IPA
I love IPAs that are a mix of West and East coast styles. This certainly has characteristics of both. It's not remarkably exciting, but it is very tasty.
Update: 10/1/11
I've had this a number of times since my first review and I'm slightly bumping up my score. This is not the best IPA out there, but it's extremely drinkable and it has a unique fruity character that really grew on me.

A Maryland go-to malty IPA. It’s a good drinkable choice every time!

A heavy malty (not a New England) IPA.
