When the spiciness of both American IPA and Belgian Witbier are both celebrated, then the marriage of the two have to find harmony somehow...

Hazy and yeasty in its pour, the beer releases a creamy dense blanket of foam, just before settling into a lacy sheet that retains half the session heartily. After that, the ale quivers and its foam dissolves.

Its light and spicy character is both soft and acidic in the same scent and taste. Perfumy in its aroma, its taste is complex with soft powdered sugar malts early; but zesty, fruity, and spicy later and later in its taste and texture. The early palate is creamy, supple sweet, and wheaty. As the beer extends across the tongue, its taste develops into fruity oranges, tangerines, lemons, and apples- just before the sharper grapefruity taste and dryness drags the flavors toward a lightly resinous finish of pine twigs, and a moderately bitter closing.

Warm to close, the beer carries with it a soft covey, minty and somewhat vanilla taste that's overshaddowed by grain character that's very charming if you can get past the husky bite. It's a complex ale that has good intentions but are a bit rough around the edges.

A: poured a deep slightly cloudy amber. Very little head to speak of

S: sweet and yeasty not the greatest

T: I get the yeasty wheat beer taste upfront then some spicy notes and finally the dry hops hit at the end. Overall it's not a bad combination. Tastes better as it warmed up I feel

M: crisp and a bit too much carbonation for me but not bad.

O: I honestly am not familiar with this style so really have no base with which to compare. It was an ok beer although its not something I would return to again and again. Still it was really interesting and fans of this style may enjoy.

A - cloudy yellowish orange with a thin lacing of white head

S - Belgian yeast, heavy spices, herbal

T - herbal, spices, faint malt, mildly bitter, some alcohol in the finish

M - medium bodied, well carbonated

This is a decent BIPA. There is a nice herbal hop character here which makes this pretty enjoyable. Unfortunately, this beer is simple and borders on boring after a while. It's definitely a nice addition to the heavy seas line-up, but this isn't a beer I would visit often.
