A rich, chocolaty English Porter with a clean finish. We use the finest floor-malted Maris Otter malts from England, the same malts used for the best single-malt scotch. A portion of malted rye gives a spicy, slightly dry finish.

A: Agressive pour produces two finger, tan/off-white head with big soapy bubbles. Slowly recedes and leaves some film and those big bubbles along the outer edges. Some lacing. Dark brown, ruby colored. Nice to pour this myself because I've never gotten this on draft at a bar...very good looking beer to start.

S: Roasted and sweet smells balance each other out. A different quality to the smell that I can probably attribute to the rye. Not too bad.

T: Chocolate and roasted flavors start things off, rye comes in afterwards...something kind of sweet at the end. Very enjoyable.

M: Pretty full for a low abv beer. Nice carbonation produces almost a bubbly feel as well.

D: Could and have drank a few of these in one sitting. This is one of my favorite Yazoo offerings.

I thought this was very good. Porters can be overdone but not this. It's got a subtle chocolatey coffee taste with a little bite, yet very drinkable.

12 oz bottle served at about 55F in a goblet. Purchased and consumed a few months past BB date, but bought and stored refrigerated.

Flavor: Chocolate and sweet malts. Slighty sweet balance for style
Finish is a mess of flavors, probably due in part to the rye.

Feel: medium-full body with excellent, near-medium carbonation.

O: worth trying.

A medium sized light brown head that settles into a decent lacing above a clear dark reddish amber colored beer.

Dark roasted caramel to chocolate malt aroma with a bit of dark fruits sneaking in there.

The taste is very similar to the aroma deep dark roasted caramel to chocolates with a bit of those dark fruits sneaking in there.

A roasted dry aftertaste with a bit of the dark malts hanging around on this medium bodied porter.

A pretty good tasting beer, I could use a few of these on a chilly autumn night.

A buddy brought a variety pack back from a trip to Nashville. The beer pours a nice color which was slightly less dark than Guinness, with a tan head. The rye was indeed sly - the beer wasn't as astringent as I had anticipated. While not as bitter as I would expect from a porter, I found it quite drinkable, and wouldn't hesitate to purchase it if I found it in my part of the country.
