A muddy cola brown with a 1/2 finger tan head that lingered for a bit. Aromas of berries, cherries, vanilla, oak, and musty wine barrels. Moderately tart with blueberry, cherry, vanilla, oak, sweet red wine, and barnyard funk. All the flavors played well together with no real dominant aspect. The big ABV was hidden except for a pleasant warming on the finish. Complex and interesting.

My favorite of the ETF brews I have tried, and I try all I can. Very complex brew, though not surprisingly when you read the story of how it came to be. If you enjoy a funky beer, this is a great one. The alcohol is hidden well. Very drinkable. Warms nicely. I love it.

Pours a dark brown, minimal head. All of the barrels present themselves in the aroma. There's tart lactic character up front, some vinous barrel, vanilla, with some dried fruit on the finish. It's like the most complex chocolate covered sour cherry that I've ever had. You don't really feel the alcohol either. The evolution of the different flavors and the way they present themselves on the palate is truly remarkable and is what makes this a truly great sour.

Could be my favorite ETF beer I've had. Nice nose and coke brown color. The taste is so complex it's hard to pinpoint all the flavors coming through. I get lots of barrel, mild funk. Some cherry and vanilla notes come through. Fairly tart but not over bearing. Mouthfeel isn't very thick, and alcohol is almost unnoticed. Very well done.

It's like they say, "Good things happen to those who wait". And the patience of Yazoo brewers are aptly rewarded with their stronger, darker Belgian-style ale that's undertaken an oaken, souring cocoon and transformed this immature ale into a blossoming, complex and alluring adult. Never Again should definitely happen again.
Tawny crimsons and burgundies take a dark and highly oxidized appearance with a fast dissolving froth that quickly renders the beer's appearance to a burnt sherry showcase. The scent that wafts upon the nose is rife with dark fruit, stone fruit, red wine, dark candies, pepper and cellar-like funk. Sweet to taste, its the flavor of charred molasses, hard candy, cola, steely caramels and cherry juice that bounces on the front of the tongue.
And that's just the start- the flavors keep blooming with the lift of sweetness and the acceleration of sourness. Gaining fruity ground, the taste divulges black cherry, red currant, blueberry, plum, fig and prune with those strong winey tethers of red grape, brandy and robust burgundy wine that pull the fruit and fledgling sweetness together. Balancing with a charge of fresh cracked black pepper, cumin, clove and vanilla, the ale takes a spicy and earthy tone as weathered oak, leather and sandalwood dry the late palate with ease.
Sour to taste, the strong sense of balsamic, breaks up the beer's medium-full body and gives the session an irresponsible sense of drinkability. Spicy, winey and dry, the ale's drinkability is that of stronger merlot and cabernet wine but with a stern vinegar, cherry and oak display that provides a light powder-fine texture to close. Lingering acidity is enough to squint the eye and wet the mouth as its cidery acids far outlast all other flavors in aftertaste.

Exceptional sour. Smell is very aromatic. You Can pick out the cherry and bourbon barrels.
