Notes: Check out a piece of Nashville brewing history! Gerst Brewery was the original Nashville brewery, but never recovered after prohibition. We are excited to partner with the Chandler Family, owners of the Gerst Haus Restaurant, to bring this beer back right where it belongs – Nashville, Tennessee.

This is a very “clean” beer, with mostly German malts and a hint of flaked maize, remaining as true as possible to the original Gerst recipe.

Poured from a bottle into a shaker pint, the beer is a bright, slightly hazy, amber copper coloring, with a halo of white head. Aromas of roasted caramel, subtle hops bitterness, toasted vanilla, and a cracker backbone. Flavors are sweet and smooth forward, with a blend of caramel and nutty sweetness, a cracker backbone, and subtle cream notes. Smooth, light bodied, with a crisp undertone. Sugary sweet aftertaste into a smooth, crisp finish.

Nice golden-amber color but that's about it. Tastes like bread and has a sour aftertaste. A little bit of sweet flavor would have helped. The taste is the number one priority which is why I gave it a overall rating to match the taste. Yazoo never fails to disappoint.
