From the Yazoo newsletter:
Fall has officially arrived, the season and Yazoo Fall Lager. In years past the Yazoo Fall has been a ale but we decided to change it up this year and use a lager yeast. This gives the beer more of a even bodied mouth feel that has a full robust malty flavor. One sip and you will instantly think of the season.

Pours a clear amber color. 1/4 inch head of an off-white color. Decent retention and slight lacing. Smells of pale malt, sweet malt, slight caramel malt, hint of rice, hint of wheat, and a hint of citrus hops. Fits the style of a German Marzen / Oktoberfest. Mouth feel is sharp and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, pale malt, slight wheat, hint of rice, slight citrus hops, and slight caramel malt. Overall, a more traditional Marzen with a decent blend and body.

This is a nice lager with big flavor for a lager , nice deep copper color like a new castle .
I probably wouldn't sit around and drink several of these but they are really good .

Poured into a pint glass. A nice clear copper-amber color with a frothy off-white head. The foam was resilient and left some nice tracks. The nose brought brown sugar, spices, some floral notes, and brown bread. The taste followed closely. A robust bready flavor with some spice and floral elements mixed in. Clean finish.

Bottle:
Pours a nice clear copper leaning amber with an okay off-white head that ends up a mix of foam with soapy bubbles.
Nose is a little bit of earthy spice on a light cinnamon toast background (raisin included).
Taste follows the nose, with just the slightest of lean towards a spiced tea. Highly drinkable as a light beer with a medium boldness of flavor.
Enjoyable beer that worked for me when I drank it.

On tap at Rattle n Hum, NYC. Geat on the moment beer. Weather has taken a serious turn to seasonal & this has arrived on the scene.
Appropriate copper color, like a new penny. Creamy head leaves almost no lacing but stays to cap the drink to the end. Easy toasted malty aroma leads to a very pleasant, thirst quenching & robust mouthfeel of a brew. It may test the definition of a lager to some as it leans into the realm of an ale, but whatever YOU call it I'll say "1 fall lager, please" to have second. Here's to the rise of the Fall.

Fresh 12 oz bottle from TN with a bottling date of 23 Sept. 2015. Served in a Belgian snifter.
Pours with an autumnal orange-amber body topped by a small head that soon dies to a thin ring. High clarity.
As the color suggests, this has some medium roast and (I think) caramel malts. Both the aroma and flavor are lightly sweet. A faint hint of vinegar in the aroma seriously detracts from the otherwise pleasant aromatics, but this doesn't carry over to the flavor (or gets masked).
Feel: medium-light body and carbonation.
Overall: a lightly sweet, malt-dominated lager.
