Hop Project #65 is a solid IPA. It has good malt and bitterness. The beer pours a copper color with thin white head that is leaving some lace. The smell has good hop scents...pine bitter citrus. The taste is good balance between malt to start foloowed by bitterness. The body is medium to full with smooth carbonation. Overall...decent.

Bottled on May 16th, gotta love the dating on the bottle, although not a fan of the screw caps, screw those things. Thanks to JonnyGalt (Reddit) for this one.

Pours a fluffy looking 1 finger head that fades at a med pace with decent lacing, over mostly clear amber nectar colored beer.

Nose brings lots of malts at first, sweeter caramel reddish malts with a hint of toffee even. Then the earthy candy hops come through, light candied stone fruit.

Taste continues where the nose left off, bringing sweet caramel malts, quite malty at first, with light toffee, light toasty reddish malts, juicy and sweet. Then hops, a decent bitterness with some light earthy hop flavors, little grassy as well, with some candied stone fruit hop flavors again, and just a slight hint of pine. bigger and fluffy feeling with a hint of what feels like warming booze but hard to tell through the malty sweetness and light bittering hops. Finish is quite bitter, starting to get a little spicy bitterness with light sticky sweetness lingering, and lots more caramel malts, and hint of orange marmalade. The more I drink the more the hops build up and it gets a little astringent.

Mouth is fairly fuller bodied, decent carb, just a hint of warming booze.

Overall an interesting beer. Not quite an IPA, more of imperial red or amber or something, as the malts take more of the show than the hops, although the hops are interesting in their own profile.

12 ounce bottle -> World Market tulip glass

This beer pours a very hazy light copper with a decent one finger head, medium retention, and excellent lacing. The smell is mostly pine, and citrus, grasses, and biscuit. Taste is very sweet upfront balanced by a powerful hop finish. It is not as grapefruity as some IPAs, but it is quite good. Mouthfeel is full with a slight lingering aftertaste. This offering dates back to June but doesn't seem to have deteriorated much. Good stuff.

A- Pours an amber-copper color with a decent one finger white head. Retention is decent and copious lacing.
S- The aroma is not as pungent as many hop projects. Slightly spicy, with a fruity undertone.
T- Thee fruityness comes through here. It's very tropical at first and the bitterness comes through near the finish.
M- This one seemed smoother than I remember many of the hop projects being. Medium-low carb. MEdium body.
O- A good effort on this Hop Project. Though I've liked most of the ones I've had, this one is in the upper half.

Served on tap into a shaker glass at Broadway Brewhouse. Made with Columbus, Horizon, and Cluster Hops

A- Poured a semi-hazy dark copper color with a frothy head that left glass coating lace

S- Whoa, huge aroma of fruity pebbles cereal, tropical fruit, and very dank

T- Big fruity pebbles taste, tropical fruit like mango, super sticky dank taste, and lots of sweet malt. Very little bitterness

M- Medium body, prickly carbonation, and smooth

O- A really unique hop profile here, very fruity and dank. Not much bitterness, very sweet hop profile, and a big sweet malt backbone.

This one was botled on May 12th so it was a couple of months old when I brought it home. Nice amber color with a good head after pouring it into a chilled pint glass. I picked up a good floral aroma - not overwhelming but very apparent. Felt good in the mouth...enough body to satisfy me.

I was introduced to Yazoo Hop Project in November of 2011, batch 56 I think! I was down on Broadway, beer was on tap - Broadway Brewhouse in Nashville....

I am a fan of IPA's and I love the new spin put on each new batch...

Appearance: Pours a clear amber with a relatively modest head that leaves a dotty pattern

Smell: Tropical fruit, with undertones of caramel

Taste: Tropical fruit (papaya, pineapple), up front, with a solid caramel backbone underneath; moderately bitter, in the finish, though both the sweet fruit and caramel flavors are dominant

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: Although this ia a maltier IPA than what I typically prefer, it is an enjoyable beer though the sweetness ultimately leaves me in the "one and done" domain

Picked up a couple sixers in TN dated 5/16/2012 so this was about a week old when I started drinking it. Looks just like all of the other Hop Projects, amber, clear, good head and lacing. Smell is nice, hoppy, fruity, good stuff. Taste has a hoppy flavor that seems more fruit than pine but not citrus. This was really well balanced and though I am usually quite biased towards West Coast style IPA's. I would have bought a case if I had a way to get it all home.
