This isn't much worse than anything else from this style. I picked up a bottle from a street vendor in Sint Maarten for a buck or two.

I never poured it into a glass and just consumed it while walking back to our cruise ship. It was cold and wet but not very good. Your usual sweet, poor tasting mess. It did not taste fresh either.

In the Caribbean you aren't going to find great beer very often, so if you want a beer, you may have to settle for one of these. On the positive side, it is refreshing and not too hard to drink when you are already drunk.

Found this one at a gas station in Fort Lauderdale, I've never had Haitian beer before. The bottle is cool, reminiscent of a Red Stripe in shape, with a screened on red and yellow label. Prestige pours a very pale yellow with a white head from a twelve ounce stubby. It smells like corn. Taste isn't exactly what I expected, nor is it terrilby good. Tastes like corn/adjunct macro lager of a poor degree. Not recommended.

I gotta say, this beer pretty much looks exactly like piss. Thin, yellow, clear, and with the barest hint of a head. Some moderate bitterness in the nose that overlays some adjunct notes, but I don't get creamed corn or cooked vegetables at least. The taste is quite watery with a short, leafy bitterness to start, and then a corny flavor. Still, relatively clean, which is more than I can say of some beers. Thin and watery in the mouth, with a corn and cracker finish. Drink it while it's cold.

A: The beer is crystal clear very light yellow in color and poured with a half-finger high bright white head that quickly died down but consistently left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface.
S: There are moderately strong sweet aromas of adjunct malts in the nose.
T: The taste is very similar to the smell and has a light amount of initial sweetness along notes of corn and grain. There is some skunkiness in the aftertaste.
M: It feels light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This might be a good beer for a hot day in the tropics but there’s nothing special about this beer to make me want to try another.

Pours a light golden color with big white head. Head falls slowly leaving minimal lace.

Smells light and maybe grainy? Little sweet.

Thin taste. Light malts and hops and slightly metallic.

Thin and highly carbonated in mouth.

I don't care, I like it. Good hot weather brew for those steamy Florida summers.

Aroma is crisp and malty with a fruity undertone, nothing special but at least it smells like beer. It pours a clear, wan straw yellow with a thick white head that quickly dissipates. Flavor is - well, malty, slightly fruity, just a touch of hops. Texture, though, is nice - firm body and plenty of fizz. Nothing worth tweeting all of your friends, but worthy of a try. Besides, the folks in Haiti can always use a boost.

Bottle from Colonial Spirits, thanks for the Tick!
Brilliantly clear deep yellow color with a decent sized bubbly white head that shows moderate retention. Light floral hops, light bready pilsner malt with a bit of sugary sweetness and little else. No flaws nothing horrible here, just a bland watery light lager

I work with a lot of haitian and one went to new-york a brought me 3 bottles of prestige lager. 12 oz old fashioned brwon bottle.

A: clear pale straw colour
S: grainy, some freshness
T: easy drinking grainy, some malt, no hops
M: watery
D: for hot summer days, easy drinking pale lager, better than I would imagine.

A: Pours a crystal clear pale yellow in color with extremely light amounts of visible carbonation. The beer has a finger tall foamy bright white head that reduces to a thick layer over the entire surface of the beer. Light lacing is observed.

S: Lots of aromas of adjunct malts - especially with corn and grain presence - along with some sweetness and light hints of skunkiness.

T: The taste follows the smell though the sweetness is lighter than the smell would indicate. The taste is full of the adjunct malts with a more grainy presence. There is also some light amounts of skunkiness in the finish of this beer.

M: Light bodied with moderate to high amounts of carbonation. Slightly thin.

O: Pretty drinkable and refreshing though the skunkiness is surprising and not something I really wanted to discover.

12 oz bottle at 5.6% ABV.

Pours pale golden-amber with a largish head that displays good retention.

A Carribean made Heineken pale lager, complete with mild bitterness and a faint skunkiness. Unappealing, skunky aftertast. Better than expected, but then the idea of a beer from Haiti is a bit scary.

Bottle given to me as a gift from my Haitian friend.

Appearance: Pours a transparent golden with a 1/2 finger white crown that displays little retention or lace.

Smell: Corn sweetness, pale malt, a faint hint of herbal hops (minor grassy note), and a bit of diacetyl.

Taste: Same as nose.

Mouthfeel: Fairly standard crisp mouthfeel found with a light side of medium bodied and well carbonated beer of this style.

Overall: It is what it is, and what it is would be an ok at best imported macro. I will not be purchasing one but drinking this gift didn't make me wince or vomit either.

Pours clear, straw yellow in color, with 1/4 inch head. Taste is honey and straw. Very light bodied. Not a bad beer, but nothing I would go out of my way for. Drinks like a typical adjunct lager.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle marked 335091935T2. Sampled on August 6, 2010. It has a nice enough looking golden color with a headless pour. There are some malts in the initial whiff of aroma but otherwise I smell more sugar and corn. Te body tends to be about medium with a taste that remionds me of sweetened malts and a dash of hops. It goes down fast though.

Prestige has a thin, white head and a clear, somewhat bubbly, straw appearance. The aroma is of faint, yet sharp hops and sweet malt. Taste is bold- sweet barley malt, grains, sugar, alcohol, and a fairly strong hop bitterness across the middle and back of the sip. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Prestige finishes pretty crisp and refreshing. Overall, it's a good beer that improves as one drinks it down. Try it!

Aroma - Cheap corn lager, not disgusting just not too appealing. OK not a good aroma at all.

Appearance - Maybe the palest yellow I've ever seen a beer. Just a little carbonation.

Taste - Not much on the taste profile. Pretty much your run of the mill swill lager. Actually less taste than expected. Slightly off bitter aftertaste that stays around way too long.

Mouthfeel - Thin lacking enough carbonation. A surprisingly poor mouthfeel, can this beer do anything right? More carbonation would have been welcome.

Drinkability - Not drinkable. If this was dirty cheap, and I mean dirt cheap, it might be an option.
