Purchased from a small grocery in Tbilisi, then hand-carried back to Vienna, the tall green 1/2 liter bottle features a pull-off cap and a silver and gold label sporting an etching of a mountain village (looks much more like Kazbegi than Tbilisi). All the label information is in Georgian, except for the name. Hence no clue on ingredient information. Bottled on 2/19/07, I opened it on 03/24/07.
Pours clear pale gold under a big three finger white head that settle fairly slowly, leaving a few strings of lace. The nose is sweet, and so floral it almost seems perfumed. There is also a hint of bad watermelon. The mouth is light and very prickly. The taste is a decent grainy malt flavor with a touch of overripe fruit. The hops are mild and coffee-like, leaving a bit of bite at the back of the throat. It is certainly drinkable, although hardly capable of generating any excitement.
