I can second that this place is definitely worth a visit in Strasbourg. The atmosphere is relaxed with a bit of a mid-evil wood decor (memorable for me) and heavy rock music (at the time I was there). Good trappist and abbey ales on tap and a good selection of bottles.

Don't go for dinner though - they only had nuts and dried mini-sausages (although very tasty) when I was there.

Service was great and English was well spoken even though I tried with my broken french. This is a great spot if you happen to be in this beautiful tourist town.

Cool little spot, just 50 ft walking distance from our air bnb. Great selection of local/regional beers, different styles to choose from. Folks working were very nice, spoke English to a certain extent. Helps to know just basic French though, they appreciate that.

Enjoyed our stop, would definitely like to return. The beer selection is great and the location is easy to find and in a nice part of town. Will try other locations as we travel.

Fairly busy and crowded, but comfortable. Clientele seemed to be mostly young, fashionable and of college age. Décor is a dark, brother Grimm-like motif. Very loud with happy conversation. Prices are high, but seem reasonable for this fashionable, tourist heavy part of Strasbourg. Good selection of bottles, but nothing too rare or unusual. The beers I had were fresh and well-maintained. I am not sure if food was available or not.

Les Freres Berthom is a nice beer bar in Strasbourg, a minute away from the Cathedral. The atmosphere is friendly and original. The bar tries to be like a small classic outdoor beergarten: they have trees and pavement, and a cool wooden decoration. The bar is on two floors, with some larger tables on the second floor. The first floor offers cool isolated tables for just two persons, all around the bar. The music is usually pretty cool.

The selection of beers is quite good in comparison with other beer bars in Strasbourg. They have about 40 beers, maybe 8 of them on tap. Although it isn't the widest selection available in town, they tend to select quality beers, which makes it interesting. They have a real preference for Belgian beers. The beers are served in appropriate glassware, and it is possible to buy glasses from them.

For food, they have these ridiculous 3.5 euros "tartines", which are basically a slice of bread with cheese or whatever else on it. It's quite a rip off, but it probably helps to maintain decent prices for the beers so I can't really complain.

The main problem with this bar is that it is almost always crowded, and that's not really a problem. Definitely one of your best picks if you ever go to Strasbourg.
