As the name suggests, this barn has a lot of bottles. Roughly over half the store is full of just wine bottles. The other section is many variants of hard alcohol with some beer mixed in. While the beer section is not large, it has a decent selection which makes it worth visiting. In addition, it also has a decent selection of glasses, accessories and related.

Stopped in after a visit to Cooperage. Wide open warehouse style, bottles available in both cold case and on shelf. For imports, i didn't notice too much out of the ordinary, the usual German, Belgian and Brit beers. Heavy on the locals for most of the craft beers, but they did have Jackie O's but only sours (boo!) Pliny bottles a plus. Found plenty to keep my interest, decently priced.

Bottle Barn is a huge liquor store with tons of hard alcohol, wine and beer. There's a pretty good selection of singles, most of which are stored at room temp but some are refrigerated. There's also a huge selection of sixers. Plenty of interesting imports and a ton of local beers, which in Santa Rosa means there's some pretty good stuff on offer.

So, the selection is really good, but it is not specifically a beer-centric place. That said, it's definitely worth a stop if you're passing through the area and want to pick up some interesting bottles.

This place is sort of a sleeper. Kind of funky and not well lit on the inside with tons of booze and wines but with a very good beer selection, including several cold boxes and then lots and lots of shelves. This is definitely worth a stop before Russian River opens or after you're done. (There are also two other small breweries across the street - weren't open when we were there so can't comment on the breweries). Bottle Barn is well worth even the extra effort.

Just your average, run-of-the-mill, mind blowing bottle shop. There’s wine and spirits but I come here for the beer. The good stuff goes fast, and it’s all fairly reasonably priced, with a massive selection.

As some reviewers have noted there are some great beers at this place but also gaping holes in their selection (I found more Victory and Abita than RR, lol). Fairly large, warehouse like environment.

Not sure how to judge the "vibe" of this place, but the most important thing is that it has great beer and a helpful staff. Its pretty close to Russian River and they usually have Pliny bottles and a boat load of other great beers.

I'd definitely recommend checking this place out if you are in Santa Rosa (or near it).

Beer selection was decent. Was hoping for more local stuff and oddball beers. Still good selection overall.

I stopped in while visiting Russian River. It's a large place with much more wine than anything else. The beer section isn't all that well defined so I found myself wandering to make sure I saw everything. The selection seems more by chance than plan. They have some great things but also seem to be incomplete in areas. I picked up an Almanac Strawberry sour. It's worth a visit but not all that exceptional.

Supposed to be the best shop in Santa Rosa? I feel bad for the area, because if that’s the case then they have the worst selection in Cali despite RR down the road. Mostly wine here and I did find some nice Crooked Stave regulars and the latest Almanac sours. BA Old Raspy and Old Stock Cellar Reserve was there and reasonably priced, and snagged a Four Roses Eclipse. Prices were pretty decent though with Eclipse at $26, when I usually see them at $32. No RR in stock, kind of sad. Glad I was able to find some things worth seeking out, but nowhere close to what I had expected. Only OK.

A very solid place in the Santa Rosa area. Wonderfully located about a mile form our hotel north of town. Easy to find, clean, nicely laid out.

Selection was good but not mind blowing. We had hit the Whole Foods Coddingtown Mall the day prior and picked up all we needed. We did get a couple of bottles for the room.

This is a great spot to pick up an inexpensive styrofoam shipper. Extensive selection and good amount of inventory.

Worthy but not essential.

A fine enough bottle shop. They had small Belgian, UK and German sections. There were more Cali and some other west coast beers. I didn't see any singles besides the 22 oz and foreign beers. The value is excellent though. It's better than the grocery stores and worth a stop if you're driving through the area.

I've made a couple of trips to Bottle Barn picking up some beer (what else?) and every trip has been a success. I sometimes feel overwhelmed and finding myself not knowing what to spend my limited budget on. Not that it's super pricey or anything. They have a very large selection of beers, ranging from cheap to very high dollar, and everything in between. Every style I have ever heard of I have found here. The service doesn't seem too keen on helping customers unless asked, but I somewhat enjoy getting kind of lost in a sea of beer. I am also a whiskey fan and they have a pretty good selection of that from what I saw as well. If you keep your eye on it, you will leave with a nice tow of bottles for a decent price. Next time I'm up in that area I will be making another visit for sure.

I stopped here on a day trip to visit an old friend and collect a 12 bottle shipper full of goodies that are unavailable to me in my part of the country.
Luckily they had a few bottles of Pliny and Blind Pig for $3.99 sold!
I also grabbed several FW Parabola, Double Jack, Anniversary 16
There was more selection than I had time and space for. I would recommend stopping here. Thumbs up!

A lot of choice, though to what is hot and fresh it is losing ground to Bierkraft and to Whole Foods(polling among bars done by NYSam).
Fair organization of bottles - on the floor, crowded near the bathroom and stockroom compared to the many wine racks. Old hoppy ales (ie. Lost Continent) among lesser known breweries. Only a small proportion of beers in the narrow cooler.
No single bottles. I asked an owner and he brings me to the Belgiums and bomber selection. Both owners are noteably unfirendly and unsmiling as they go about their business of making money.

Stopped by during a trip to Russian River. As written, it's in an industrial park so straight warehouse for atmosphere. The beer area is a little thrown together so it may take a moment or so to grab your bearings and look for everything they have.

Service is non-existent but not in a bad way. They just never approach you but when asked they are helpful. I didn't pick up anything magical. Pretty standard stuff actually. Perhaps I missed the area with the good finds or overlooked them.

One thing you do notice is the ridiculous cheap Russian River on offer. If you're making the pilgramage to the drinking hole in downtown Santa Rosa it may be worth the 10 minute drive out to Bottle Barn first to see what they have and purchase there.

Roll into an industrial area. I don't really know what you do with atmosphere. On one hand, its just an industrial warehouse type of area, not exactly sexy. . . but do you need that when buying bottles? Plus, the amazingly cheap prices here are in some way connected to the fact that they aren't paying rent at a high end downtown loft in the epicenter of the chic cool chachi tony ravioli puffed shirt fancy hair crowd. So, while the atmosphere isn't much, the amount and price of beer are going to lead to an above average score based on what really matters to me.

Quality, well, they have tons of Russian River. And lots of other good selections. Beyond beer, the hard liquor and wine selection is fantastic, picked up some of the 8 barrel Buffalo Trace Experimental stuff from 1991 & 1993 while I was there, koufax21 said that $50 for them was a steal.

Service wise, everyone pretty much leaves you alone, when I asked for the chicken wire cage to be opened, they were quick to help out. Another bonus, there's some decent looking ladies at the register, big props to the fine looking native girl I'm guessing. Cute, smiley, just what you should be when a dude rolls through spending three digits.

Pretty much a must visit when I'm in the area from now on, thanks Kristalynn for the heads up on this place.

Love this place! It's less than a mile from my house... And oh man am I spoiled!

They stock a lot of beers from Moylan's, Lagunitas, Bear Republic, Russian River, Alaskan Brewery, Alesmiths and a few others. Everytime I've been here the staff are friendly. They're always willing to help you find something, incase you feel a little lost. They have an excellent selection of wine if you're into that (not me). They also have a pretty good selection of local brews. They even sell Russian River brews for less than the actual brewery does.
