21 oz bottle at Rangoli's, Brighton, Massachusetts.

Ok after finishing my bottle of Taj Mahal I decided to try something different, and picked this baby. Oh my was it bad. Taj Mahal is not a great beer, but paired with Indian food I find it tasty and satisfying. This was neither. Pale, tasteless and the faint smell of straw was all this beer could muster. They can't all be 5's...or 4's for that matter. Maybe the Kingfisher will be better, I'll try that next time.

Poured from a clear bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a clear deep golden straw color with a small head of fizzy white foam. The head fades quite fast leaving a trace of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is heaviest of a bready and cracker malt smell mixed with notes of caramel and a rather decent showing of cardboard. Along with these smells comes a little bit of a skunk and a touch of harvest fruit.
Taste – The taste begins with a crisp cracker malt and slightly grainy taste. Along with these tastes comes some flavors of cardboard and skunk along with a bit of caramel. As the taste advances there is a bit more paper and a touch of herb, as well as some light tastes of skunk, which in the end, leave one with a crisp and funked lager taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is light and crisp with a carbonation level that is moderate. For the style and the tastes, the feel is good and makes for an easy sipper.
Overall – Ah. A bit off on flavor with somewhat off tastes. Not one I would go to again.

It's my favorite Indian beer. It's so smooth without bitter after taste, and tastes great with Indian food. But I do like to drink it whenever.

This is my favorite beer. Its really smooth, easy to drink, and ends its taste with a wheat bread esque kind of flavor. It's a little thick, but not as intensely as some other lagers, though. I like it for it's flavor, personally, As i like the whole bread flavor impression. It is a 'whole' beer and satisfying to drink. I would love for this lager to grow as a company and in popularity. Its my most trusted.

Gold in color with excellent clarity. There’s a fingernail of eggshell white around the rim and covering three quarters of the top. The aroma is of faint grassy hops and skunky beer. I’m tasting flat light grains. The mouth is very light and easygoing.

650mL bottled 07/21 batch B41 poured into an imperial tulip pint glass at 53° Fahrenheit 4.7% ABV per label. The beer pours very bright golden yellow with bone white head. The head recedes to a thin cap. Excellent head retention, but minimal lacing. The aroma is vague, sweet malt and corn syrup. The taste is pale malt with a slight adjunct presence. Not much flavor, but no glaring flaws. Mild bitterness. The mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, better than I expected an 8 month old lager from India to be. Would be fine with food.

If after reading the commercial description in the notes, you would have to wonder why this is not a solid '5' rated beer. Of course you need to prove it to yourself. Not really a let down because I am a realist. The appearance is straight up AAL; clear straw colored, average size white head and a fair amount of lacing. That's the good news. From there you will get a vegetal aroma, a bland cardboard-like taste and a slightly sweet, malty aftertaste. Mouthfeel was a slight step up. A little drier, a little crisper, good carbonation and short lived.

From the bottle with the golden foil that I sampled on Aug 25, 2021.

A reasonably attractive golden colored pour with good clarity but a head that just fizzles in about 3 seconds.

Definite malt forward sensation greets the nose akin to white bread, maybe rice, and a lower profile grassy or fruity hop thing. One of its better aspects.

Smooth, light-medium mouthfeel.

Sweet bready taste really defines it with a hint of grassy or fruity hops at the finish. Really does not linger much. This is one of those lagers that are just a lager with no redeeming qualities. I didn't hate it. I drank all of it. But I won't have it ever again.
