A typical cheap lager that smells skunky and low on taste.

Served in a small pint glass in a Kolkata pub- Broadway.

Look: Transparent, golden yellow with bubbles of carbonation.

Smell: Typical smell of a cheap lager. No fruity smell. Presence of some toasted grain.

Taste: Nothing special. Probably below 4% ABV. Slight touch of sour mash at the back of the toungue. Loosely constructed beer. Low in hop

Aftertaste: A slight taste of mixed rice with barley. No distinct aftertaste.

A very pedestrian and unimaginative AAL that will be a great thirst-quencher on a hot summer afternoon.
Presentation - On tap, served in a dimpled mug at about 40 degrees, chilled.
A - The very embodiment of a fizzy, yellow, lager. No head retention, no lacing, a light stream of bubbles for a good 15 minutes, indicating strong carbonation.
S - Some toasted grain - clearly adjunct, possibly rice and other grains blended in, with the barley.
T - no taste to speak of, very inoffensive. Possibly sub-4 ABV as well.
M - very light, as befitting an AAL.

O - there are better deals in the AAL category to be had. But if you must sample an Indian version of AAL, the Kingfisher Ultra might be a better choice.

On tap at New Delhi airport, served in the brand's mug.

Appearance 2/5
Light golden and brilliantly clear with a tiny head that left soon and left no lacing.

Aroma 2/5
Light, sweet aroma. Typical adjunct lager smell, just stronger.

Taste 2/5
Slightly sweet, mostly bland, with some hop bite at the end.

Mouthfeel 2/5
A wee bit thicker feel than most of its kind with decent carbonation. Dry & clean finish. Not bad on mouthfeel but it just doesn't seem like beer-- just bad smelling soda.

Drinkability 2/5
It's a shame that this swill passes for beer. You can slam it but slamming malt liquor would get you drunk cheaper if that's the intention. Otherwise don't bother drinking it.
