Billed as a "brewmaster's selection" a one-off based on the brewer's current whim.

Appearance was a hazy, opaque orangey yellow. Almost identical to the cherry ale, which was a little disconcerting. Seemed to be the same base beer with a different fruit extract. The foam faded rapidly, leaving a thin ring. Surface was glassy with little visible carbonation.

Aroma was clearly fuzzy apricot, so points there for authenticity. Straight up fruit on the nose, no hint of underlying malt. Clean and slightly tart flavor, somewhat malty in the middle. Pretty thin and almost watery. Apricot flavor is pleasant, and gives it something unique, but the base beer is a little to pedestrian. Easy enough to drink a pint, but not especially memorable.

A- Pours a hazy golden. One finger head disappears but leaves a ring around the glass. Some lacing left.

S- Straight up apricots.

T- More apricots. Doesn't seem too artificial which is a plus. One negative is its pretty one dimensional. Not bad for what it is.

M- Thin. Crisp.

D/O- Well the growler was split between a buddy and I. At. The brewpub I'd probably only have one but we had to finish this tonight. Pleasantly surprised with this one. Great summer beer and a nice way to end this one. Thanks for the beer Max!

rather mild on the fruit this one. back on tap in place of the cherry ale for the winter. the pour is clear and a really light shade of orange. a few fingers of lovely white lacing lingers around awhile before slowly relaxing. the nose is like apricot jam, very sweet and a tad unnatural, with a crystal malt profile beneath it, a very light beer. the flavor is also quite light, with the apricot offering just a little sweetness and none of that big perfumy stuff you often get in peach and apricot beers. more like a honey wheat honestly than an apricot wheat, but thats just fine with me. finish is clean and refreshing because the sugars are lower than most in this style. the feel works okay too, if you enjoy brutally light beers. the body is super thin, and the carbonation is above average. overall an easy session beer, probably more suited to summertime than winter weather, but a worthy quaff nevertheless. didnt stand up to my pulled pork mac and cheese though, which was a bit of a bummer, but i should have known better.
