On tap at the Great Northern Hotel in Melbourne

A-- Orange brown color with only a white film for head. Head retention was excellent and it left lacing all the way through drinking. Clear body and showed very little carbonation. Thought it was a bit cold when poured.

S-- Pine, grapefruit and a bit of a floral orange lemon smell. Grapefruit and pine most dominant.

T-- Once again grapefruit and pine. Very forward hoppy taste and pretty aggressive. A lot like US Western IPA's. A nice change from the usual English style IPA's that are available in Sydney.

M-- Lower medium carbonated and a lot of oily citrus resin with this. Flavor is excellent and lasts a while. Not as much pine in the finish as had hoped, more lemon, orange and grapefruit centered.

D-- Great drinkability. Under 6% ABV and feels a little lighter. This beer has the potential to be a monster if made that way. Still can have 2-3 of these easily. Only issue is availability. If not in Perth then it gets hard to find as few places have it. Good replication of a US IPA. Just wish Feral bottled their stuff besides the white.

Bottle: standard 330mL brown bottle, pretty rubbish label. At least it's different though.

Appearance: pours a hazy orange amber with a thick off-white head. Good retention and decent, patchy lacing. Enticing to say the least.

Aroma: up-front strong aromas of tropical fruit hops - lychee, mangoes and peaches. A hint of bread malts rounds out the aroma.

Taste: follows the nose, with an expected whack of citrus hops. Again, the bread malts back up the big hop flavours somewhat.

Aftertaste: astringency starts to cut across, but the American IPA levels of hops sorts it out.

Mouth feel: medium carbonation, with a thicker body.

Overall: quite a decent IPA, not quite as overdone as a lot of the American IPAs. Quite expensive though, at AU$80 a case. Take it or leave it, I suppose :)

On tap at Young & Jacksons 12 March
3.75 Clear yellow.
4.25 Beautiful and aromatic. Pineapple and gentle pine. Loads of hops.
4 Solid pale ale. Malt base isn't crisp, but full-bodied and sweetish. Aftertaste has got a pleasant hop bite, but the fruit comes through most strongly in the maintaste.
3.75 A bit thin, but quite refreshing.
3.75 Good! I'd have again, but perhaps not go out of the way. A fruit-forward pale ale.

On tap at The Local Taphouse 6/7/08.
A - Poured a clear orange colour with a 2cm fluffy white head that slowly falls away leaving some patchy lacing.
S - Pungent wood, spicey pine notes as well as some slight citrus aromas.
T - Woody & piney hops like the smell backed up by some biscuit maltiness.
M - Medium bodied with a medium to high carbonation.
D - A well balanced, very tasty IPA. Easily my favourite from this brewery so far. 5.8%ABV is high enough to give a kick but won't stop a few going down.

Single bottle courtesy of a trans-Pacific trade with dgilks - cheers David!

Poured into the handy hotel room tumbler glass, which served its purpose admirably. An amber-russet brew, slightly hazy, with a lively head, great retention and lovely icicles of lacing. First rate appearance.

The nose is solid American citrus hops, brown sugar, pale malt. Some orange, lemon and other tropical fruits kicking around.

A maltier American IPA, with the hops coming to my attention only later in the sip. The hops have a nice earthy character with the citrus only mildly poking its head above the surface. Quite flavorful, although the hops lack that juicy punch I come to expect from any brew with "Hop" in the name. Still, quite tasty and enjoyable.

Effervescent carbonation, medium feel.

With a bit of tweaking, this IPA could hold its own quite nicely against other brews of the style. Nevertheless, this was a highly drinkable IPA and is well-worth seeking out.

330ml bottle. Opaque pale to deep gold colour with a creamy off-white head which reduced to a thin layer and left decent lacing. Aroma of resin, pine, passionfruit and citrus. Nicely balanced mild sweetness and bitterness. Light to medium bodied, creamy yet sticky texture with a dry, pleasantly bitter finish that lingers. A very decent IPA. 8.

Drank from my Duvel Tulip.

A - Pours a cloudy Orange Amber colour with a persistent White head that retains and laces.

S - Nice balance of tropical aromas and piney hops.

T - Quite powerfull hops and pine flavours with a nice citrus zing on the bitter finish. The tripical flavours also present in the backgound.

M - Medium to light body and medium carbonation.

O - The best IPA brewed in Australia, hands down.

Also drank from my Duvel tulip

A - Poured an orange/amber colour with two fingered frothy white head that laced fairly well.

S - Orange, pineapple aromas that are well pronounced

T - Nice hoppy & sweet citrusy, pineapple flavour straight up but then you get a sort of tangy bitterness at the end that is very impressive.

M - Light to medium body with medium carbonation

O - Very nice well balanced IPA. Love the tangy bitterness it gives at the end.
