I had this beer while in the airport between flights in NZ during my wife's and my 2 week trip in NZ. This one just sounded good at the time since I wanted something light to drink,

This beer pours a pale straw color that is clear and shows off some seriously high carbonation. The head is bright white and a thin frothy layer that dissipates quickly to a thin lacing that is almost non-existent. 3/5 The aroma is typical of the American Adjunct lagers with a very light grainy malt and rice both coming through, and then being backed up by a grassy hop note. The aroma is incredibly simple and straightforward and has just a bit of green apple to it. No skunk despite the green bottle. 3/5 The flavor is just like the aroma, simple and straightforward. The malt is grainy and slightly sweet with a hint of rice. The hops balance out the malt and come across as fresh cut grass and hay. The flavor is not really strong in any way, shape, or form. 2.75/5 The mouthfeel is quite watery, resulting in an incredibly light beer that is thirst quenching and not drying in the slightest, with no lingering mouthfeel. There is a decent carbonation burn up front that goes away fairly quickly. 3/5 This beer really comes across as New Zealand's version of Miller Lite to me. It is very light, but balanced with a flavor that is not very strong. it is nice and thirst quenching and is very easy drinking. 3/5

From notes taken 12/18/16

Clear straw gold with even, consistent, light, foamy yellowed white head of great retention. Upwardly streaming bubbles that replenish head are abundant and enticing. Grain and slight honey aroma, with light hopping equal parts citric, floral, and melon-like. Smells very refreshing. Green bottle but no skunk. Very rich grainy to grassy palate, not harsh at all and in balance with toasty elements as well as the clean and semi-bitter hops. Slight rindy to peppery retro-olfaction. Medium in body but flavor and eventual creaminess of otherwise sudsy and tingly carbonation tempt me to say full. Refreshment in a pokal, I’m guzzling it.

Aroma has a musky tone, flavor has a little snap to it. Nice pillowy head on this beer. I’m out of season on this one, it would be perfect on a hot summer’s day.

Yellow appearance, super white head, lots of bubbles vanish quickly. Aroma was skunk as funk. I don't mind.

Omniprescient alcohol all over it, skunky taste vibe too. Does impart some hoppiness, really thin body. I'd knock one back for old times sake on the golf course come warm weather, used to drink this a bunch in the 90s when 12'ers would go on sale at Safeway.
