$2.49/4-pack at Bullock's Wine & Spirits in Marietta, Georgia.

The bottle gives the current ABV at 4.90%.

Appearance: Pours a hazy, golden-yellow body with a tall (though collapsing), meringue-like, white head.

Smell: Sweetish, slightly tangy wheat aroma with notes of banana, citrus, spice, and chewing gum.

Taste: Sugary sweet, tangy malted wheat begins, soon followed by a zip of freshly-grated lemon zest, banana juice, a light pinch of clove, but a big hunk of bubble gum. Very mild spicy hop character and bitterness. Lingering touch of lemon on the drying finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-high carbonation, but it retains a nice, creamy mouthfeel overall.

Drinkability: A very enjoyable, highly drinkable all-around hefe. Sure, it may be even better in summertime, but it's still very pleasant when it's 39°F outside.

Pours a very cloudy, almost hazy, deep golden coloration with a large. frothy head. Smells of doughy malt and fruity/spicy esters, with notes of banana and just a hint of clove, as well as some grassy hops. Taste is a great balance of doughy malt, fruity, spicy esters and grassy, spicy hops, with notes of banana and lighter clove, citrus and apricot, as well as some grassy accents. Finishes with a light bitterness and some banana and clove lingering in the aftertaste. Full mouthfeel with a medium/rich body and medium carbonation.

A great Hefeweizen that is quite full-bodied, with a superb mouthfeel, yet still goes down easy. I really like the balance of malt, hops and yeast here, with this having some really nice fruity and spicy characteristics to it. This feels rather spritzy and easy-drinking, yet quite rich and full-bodied at the same time, with the estery and hoppy fruit notes standing out very nicely here, rounded out by a bit of spice. Overall, this makes for a very enjoyable Hefeweizen that is rather well-balanced. with a great flavor profile and mouthfeel to it.

Golden colored liquid, clear foam that lasts long. Smell and taste are like banana bread, vanilla, fresh wheat and some spice notes. Light to medium carbonation. A little light for a Hefe but this one has a lot of personality and fully satisfies.

Brownish amber colored ale with a medium sized white head. Fairly cloudy with no floating yeast clumps.

Smells strongly of apple cider. Heavy wheat malt and it smells decidedly sweet. Clove and banana scents as expected. Leans more to the banana and smells strongly like an overripe one.

Starts out sweet and fruity with a very strong apples and bananas flavor. Strong taste of caramel. Tastes a lot like a caramel apple. Faint sourness like a granny smith apple. Taste of spice on the tongue. Decidedly tastes of mulled apple cider.

Mouthfeel is good.

Overall a decent beer.

(500 ml flip-top bottle, code 1629221098943 - poured into a wine glass - will retrieve my weizen glass this week!)

L: medium-bright (clear), light yellow-gold liquid... more haze develops as you pour more in... dregs at the bottom give it requisite murk... the foam doesn't hold at all - guessing this is another older bottle

S: dried lemon peel, doughy malt, earthy paste-y yeast, banana chips, and a very light spice tweaking in the back... overall intensity is not quite vibrant, but some nice depth, well-rounded...

T: wheat-y decadence, layered malt and yeast masonry, fruity flourishes... lemon and spice in the finish, and a flash of dried banana whose essence lingers, but on the drier side after it's all washed away...

F: pretty plush, pillow-y viscosity, medium-full bodied - just luscious, despite some sizzle from the foam... fills and coats the palate before disappearing into a black hole before the back of the palate...

O: again, like their doppelbock I had a few days ago, this tastes a bit weathered, but it's easy to tell that it's a satisfying, solid weizen when fresh(er)... might try to convince them at the store to give me a discount if I buy all their remaining Miltenberger stock at once - trust me, it ain't movin' at that joint

A: The beer is hazy yellow in color and has a moderate to high amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a two finger high white head that died down rather quickly, leaving a thin layer of bubbles on the surface, a collar around the edge of the glass, and some lacing down the sides.
S: Light to moderate aromas of sweet bananas are present in the nose.
T: Similar to the smell, the taste is filled by flavors of bananas—these are slightly sweet and reminiscent of the flavors that you would get from a banana candy. No cloves are noticeable.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate to high amount of carbonation.
O: This hefeweizen is all about the banana flavors, so it isn't as complex as some of the top beers in the style.

I picked up a bottle of Miltenberger's Helles Hefe Weizen a couple weeks ago for $3.99 at The Lager Mill. I'm in the mood for a wheat beer tonight and I thought I would give this one a shot, so lets see how it goes. 2014 Vintage. Poured from a brown 16.09oz pop top bottle into a Weizen glass.

A- The label looks ok, it's typical for this brewery and it isn't too eye catching. It poured a fairly hazy golden color that took on more of a golden orange color when held to the light with a little over two and a half fingers worth of creamy, fizzy and bubbly white head that died down to a thin ring that stayed till the end and it left just a slight bit of patchy lacing behind. This was a nice looking beer, but i wish the head retention and lacing were a little better.

S- The aroma starts off with a higher amount of medium sweetness with the malts being the first to show up and it imparts some nice wheat, sweet malt, bready and doughy aromas. Up next comes the yeast which seems to have a little bit of spices, but it's the fruity yeast aspect that sticks out the most making for a big banana aroma with a slight bubblegum aspect to it and there's some other fruity aromas showing up in the background. This beer had a pretty nice aroma and it's what I would expect for the style.

T- The taste seems to be very similar to the aroma and it starts off with a slightly higher amount of medium sweetness with the malts still being the first to show up and it imparts the same aspects, but they seem to be lighter than they were in the aroma. Up next comes the yeast which seems to stick out the most in the beer and it shows up more than it did in the aroma while imparting the same fruity aspects with a little less banana and bubblegum showing up and more apple and pear like flavors. On the finish there's no bitterness with some sweetness taking it's place and it had a fruity aftertaste. This was a pretty nice tasting beer and it's what I've come to expect from the style.

M- Smooth, a little refreshing, pretty creamy, not too crisp, on the lighter side of being medium bodied with a higher amount of light carbonation. The mouthfeel was pretty nice, but I wish it had a little more crispness and carbonation.

Overall I thought this was a nice beer and a nice example of the style, it had pretty much everything that I look for in the style, but I thought it was the balance that held this beer back a little and I think if the malts showed up a little more in the flavor it would make it a pretty good example of the style. This beer had nice drinkability, it was smooth, a little refreshing, pretty creamy, not too crisp, not filling and the taste does a decent job at holding my attention and I think one 500ml bottle is the perfect amount for me and I think it would be nice to have in the summer. What I like the most about this beer was the creamy mouthfeel, I thought it made it a little unique. What I liked the least about this beer was the crispness, I thought it was lacking a little. I would buy this beer again when in the mood for the style and I would recommend it to people who enjoy the style. All in all I liked this beer, it seemed to be right in line for the style and it didn't have any off flavors or aromas. This isn't a favorite from this brewery, and I think it's above average for the style. Good job guys, this was a nice beer, keep it up.

500 ml bottle into weizen glass, no bottle dating. Pours hazy golden orange color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big banana, pear, apple, lemon, bubblegum, clove, wheat, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast, earthy hops, and bready wheat malt sweetness; with good strength. Taste of banana, pear, apple, lemon, bubblegum, clove, wheat, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Fair amount of earthy yeast spice and slight bready tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of banana, pear, apple, lemon, bubblegum, clove, wheat, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Very nice complexity and robustness of fruity/earthy yeast, earthy hop, and bready wheat malt flavors; with a great malt/yeast balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and slightly bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this a very nice standard tasting hefeweizen. All around good robustness and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, earthy hop, and bready wheat malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
