Located on Fluer Drive in Des Moines IA about a mile from the DSM International airport. Next to Cup 'O Kryptonite - a locally owned coffee/comic shop. (Good Coffee!)
Under new ownership. New owner, Ethan, is very helpfull and willing to try to order any special request that he can (state of Iowa is a pain in the ass. All beer over 6.2% is considered liqour and must be purchased through the state liqour holding facility. Argg)

Anyway the selection is pretty good - lots of Bells, FFF, Rogue, great divide, and others. Nice wine selection as well.

Service is great. He owns it, and as far as I can tell is the only employee.
Beer I have purchased: Rogue hazelnut brown, Rogue dead guy, Schell snowstorm, Bells double cream stout, Bells Best Brown, Bells Amber Ale, Bells Porter, Fort Collins chocolate stout.

Give this place a shot if you live in Des Moines or have some time to kill while at the airport.

As others have said, down by the airport on Fleur, kind of tucked back by a comics and coffee store, haha. Very small store with little stock, but they have some good stuff. I was in a bit of a hurry tonight, and saw what I wanted right away, so I'll have to update this review after my next trip. Right off I spotted Pride and Joy and Robert the Bruce sixers, so I grabbed them. I also saw a few Rogue bombers in the coolers including my favorite the Shakespeare stout. Prices were very reasonable. As I was checking out I asked the guy if he'd be getting some more FFF in anytime soon and he surprised me by saying that he was told they're stopping production. I've been off the site for awhile, and I hope this is just a nasty rumor. I'd have to shed a tear if my favorite brewery went under. The guy shared my pain and said he was trying to get all the FFF he could before it disappeared but was not having much luck. But I digress...a good small store with a couple gems. I can't wait to go back and take a little closer look at the selection.

This little place is located about 1/2 mile from the Des moines airport in a strip shopping mall. Moderate selection, some nice micros (Alpha King was the high light for me) some local micros, I didnt find in grocery stores and also a moderate selection of Germans and a few belgians. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. This place had a much smaller selection then what I'm used to along the North east coast, but its location was convenient and its worth a stop if by the D.M. Iowa airport.

I happened upon this place yesterday by accident. I was in a part of town that I don't usually frequent when I looked over to the right and spotted the "Fleur Wine & Ale" sign in the back corner of a strip mall. I stopped in and was pleasantly surprised. The woman who sold me my beer said they had been open for 3-4 months.

The first thing that I noticed was that there were no macros to be found, they only sell craft beer. The front of the shop is taken up with metal racks of wine and a few specialty food items and the back has metal racks and a decent-sized cooler filled with beer. The room temperature beer is roughly evenly split between singles and 4/6 packs. The cooler contains mostly 4/6 packs with perhaps 8-10 varieties of singles. I was pleased because they had some things that I haven't seen elsewhere in the city. My purchases will give some idea of what's available. I took home (in part): Rogue Santa's Private Reserve (on sale), Rogue YSB, Whitbread Pale Ale, Adnam's Broadside, Young's Ram Rod, Grant's Perfect Porter and Grant's Scottish Ale, Anchor Porter, Schell FireBrick and Caramel Bock, Summit IPA, etc. There wasn't a huge selection, but enough to keep me exploring for awhile.

This store isn't readily accessible for those driving in from out of town, but it is within 1/4 mile of the Des Moines Airport so that's something.
