Poured from a bottle at a Salvadoran restaurant. Surprisingly okay, and definitely more drinkable than the standard Mexican or American macro schlock. Pours golden with quite a decent head. The smell has a slight smell of corn, but it is clean. The taste is crisp, clean, and slightly hoppy with some nice crisp bitterness. Crisp, refreshing, and quite drinkable for what it is.

Presentation: 12 oz brown with the front label depicting the ace of hearts. No freshness date.

Appearance: Crystal clear pale straw ... very light in colour. Big bubbles slowly rise to the top to form an even white lace.

Smell: Grain and faint cooked corn with a mild herbal hop in the back.

Taste: Light bodied and smooth with a slightly slick mouth feel that seem to be associated with the (DMS) faint cooked corn flavour. Carbonation is spot on for style lending a little to the crisp bite. Handful of malt and grain make way to the taste-buds as well as an evening hop bitterness which comes quickly. More grain in the after taste as well as light tingle from the hops as they faded.

Notes: A very drinkable product, perfect for a lawn mower beer or even to pair up with a five alarm chili for lunch.

Pours a very clear pale yellow with a 2 finger soda-like head that fizzes(?) and dissipates like soap bubbles. There is a strong smell of corn and a bit black peppery (I promise it's not my meal causing this). The taste of sweet musty corn followed by a finishing bitterness that is quite different and also fishishes with an even stronger sweet corn. Would go good with Mexican food, but not really good to drink one after another. Rather simple and the flavors although bland, don't really blend too well. Jalapenos would bring the flavors together for you ;-). Salud!

Very pale and very effervescent, I have no idea if they use adjunct grains but there's a corn-like sweetness in there that counteracts the crispness. Its not obnoxious as in some US megabrews, but this beer is not for me.

Very pale straw color with a large white head, massive streams of carbonation, irregular broken lace. Sweet malt, slight cooked corn and mild hop aroma, all quite understated. Taste begins with sweet malt, cooked corn, soft carbonation, finishes with a little spiky hop bitterness. Pleasing for its utter simplicity, this is a beer that is great simply because it is so easy to drink.

Pours a very pale straw-like color with a light beer type body. Abit watery and carbonated that takes its toll on the head as it fizz's to a thin film. No lace to be had. The aroma of grain and corn on the nose. The taste is also grain and a sweet corn malt balanced fair by a slight crisp hop that leaves the mouth a hint toward the dry side. An ok lawn brew. I'll admit I didn't know what to expect from El Salvador. They done ok.

Pours a clear, light-straw-gold body topped by a frothy bright white head. The head holds shortly before it dissipates, leaving only a thin creamy collar and minor surface covering. Tiny bubbles rise quickly to the surface. The aroma is of a lightly sulphury, lightly sweet (enhanced by dimethyl sulphate/cooked corn) and somewhat husky maltiness with no recognizable hops present. The body is thin with a fine carbonation that's lightly zesty in the mouth. The flavor is balanced towards malt sweetness but there's an obvious heavy use of adjunct which keeps the flavor thin and far from becoming cloying. A fair amount of DMS gives it a fuller character. It finishes semi-dry with a lingering sweet note. A very basic lager with limited character. Refreshing, but not interesting... even flawed.

almost clear with an ambitious, tall, sticky white top over the white gold liquid.
Aromas of sweetened straw, meyer lemon and juice blend.
On the palate it acheives meringue-like neutrality before revealing funky, watery, vagrant rice flavors.
This is an absolutely neutral colored and flavored beer. More watery character than many famous "sex in a canoe" north American macros. Only, it is not actually diluted. There is a caky, chewy grain to the mouthfeel that I find redeeming. Still, no one should have to drink this unless there was no pulque or mescal within reach.

Por Favor! Pale gold, weak and wet. If not for the sugary sweetness, this beer would have very little flavor at all. The aroma is not half bad, though there's barely a trace of hops. I believe that the thin malt body is from maize, not barley. The head disappears pronto! A white bread flavor begins to emerge. Reminds me of Busch Beer. Couldn’t finish this beer.

This poured the palest yellow I have seen in a VERY long time. My wife who does NOT drink beer asked if I peed in the glass or poured beer in it. The head was bright white with very small bubbles. The head lasted for only a short while and within a minute, the beer did indeed look like a urine sample.

I was surprised by the mile grassy aroma. Very very faint but more than I suspected.

The taste was slightly malty with a hint of hp bitterness.

Mouthfeel was very light.

I will use this as a commercial example of a below average pilsner in my BJCP judging class.

Appearance - standard pale yellow. Frothy, soapy head with some light lacing.

Aroma - clean and grainy, just a trace of yeast.

Taste - clean but seltzery pilsner. Sweet tasting and just enough flavor to avoid being labeled as light.

Mouthfeel - light and very bubbly, good fit for the style.

Drinkability - a good summer beer, even a top shelf pick for the lawn mower class.

Pours a very clear and pale light golden straw color with a surprisingly tall and frothy white head. Lots of active carbonation is apparent. Nose is light notes of grain and corn. Taste is sweet grain with only a touch of hop bitterness. Very light and crisp in the mouth and quite refreshing. This would pair nicely with a plate of spicy Tex-Mex. This is a great quencher, and I look forward to trying this again when the summer arrives.

Pours an extremely pale and clear light yellow. Very fizzy, yet there is some head that tries to lace the glass. Aromas remind me of Heineken or Corona...rather skunky. Flavor is different...with a sweetness that is unexpected. There is some crisp bitterness that is evident as well. Finish is dry, with a long-lasting bitterness. Drinkable, but barely. A hot summer day mixed with cutting grass would do wonders for this beer.

--regular 35 ml bottle with no freshness date found (there was not even an abv on the label)
--very light, clear color
--not much head and similar lacing
--average smell in all aspects

This was not the best beer of this style that I have tasted. It might make a good session beer or an alright deck on a hot day beer but their are better beers out there that create this same affect.

This beer pours a very clear yellow color with a small white head that is gone almost immediately and leaves no lacing on the glass. The aroma has a grassiness to it, but nothing much more. The flavor was slightly malty and finishes with a bit of bitterness. Very thin beer. I didn't enjoy it, but I typically don't like pilsners, so maybe I'm biased.

Poured from a 355 ml brown bottle. Clear but quite limpid and pale in appearance, right from the start it looks like it's going to be a watered down beer. Thin flash of head on the pour, but no retention. The nose is sour at first, some grain can be detected, but amidst a swirl of adjuncts that claw for dominance within the aroma. The flavour is weak, and what is actually there is unappealing at best. Some grains, but mostly cooked veggies on the palate. Sour adjuncts on the finish and aftertaste. The mouthfeel is flaccid, except for some bite from the carbonation that does nothing to enhance the experience. A lager to be avoided, keep an eye out for the ace of hearts motif on the label and choose to fold.

Bottle and draft: Poured a golden color lager with a medium size white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light adjunct notes with light sweet notes also noticeable. Taste is also dominated by light adjunct notes with light sweet notes. Body is light with medium carbonation. Not as gross as expected but nothing to write home about either.

12 oz bottle with no freshness date. Served in a pilsner glass.
Pours clear golden yellow with a macro white head.
Smells like canned corn and wet straw.
acidic flavor, a little lemony, slight bitter finish. Not a bad macro. I could see myself ordering this in a Nu-Mex style resturaunt if it was available.

The beer pours straw colored and as pale as possible. The head is white and falls quickly, but laces the glass.

The aroma is Saaz hops and slight malt. The Saaz hop aroma is huge when just poured and fades over time.

The flavor is malty, crisp, and slightly sweet. The sweetness is almost overdone, but not quite.

The finish is every so slightly sweet and dries out over time. The body is medium light. The drinkability is good.

If I was in El Salvador I would probably look for this beer, it ain't half bad.

12 ounce bottle.

Pours a clear yellow almost golden beer with a respectable white head.

Smell is light malts and grain with a decent herbal hoppiness. Not real complex but not off smelling either.

Taste is some malt and some grain flavor and a faint hint of lemony acid. Hops mostly go missing but there is some herbal bitterness to this. Not real complex but it is better than a Budweiser.

Very light mouthfeel probably meant to be that way.

Quite drinkable if you accept it for what it is. Light flavored brew that probably is just the thing to refresh you after the El Salvadorian heat cooks you for a while. Not a bad lawnmower type beer that really is more of a good light beer.

Pours a golden straw color with a little bit of white fluffy head that fades away pretty quickly and doesn't lace the glass. There's also some big bubbles in there too, bigger than I'm used to seeing. Smells of yeast and a tiny bit of hops, with an overtone of metal, but that's pretty much normal for beer from a can. Taste is sweet and a little citrusy, with some coppery bitterness on the back end. Mouthfeel is very heavy with some harsh carbonation at the front. All in all, it's a very drinkable beer. Nothing overtly bad about it, nothing incredibly great about it either. Definitely one of the better latin american beers I've had.

Having this now from a can and earlier today at the La Constancia Brewery (nice tour btw and even nicer tour guide!). Poured with a nice, large, foamy, frothy, fluffy, white head that lasts a while and good lacing. Color is a pale, clear yellow with lots of small bubble trails. Aroma is bitter, beery, slightly malty. Flavor is like aroma plus has a sugary sweetness that stands out muting the other qualities. Body is thin and carbonation overdone. Finish is like flavor and short. I like the Regia better, but it's a little harder to find for me so far in my visit here. Thanks Rafael for taking us on the Brewery tour!

Very pale, crystal clear yellow-gold. Aroma is sweet and quite grainy. Flavor is clean, sweet malt. Light corn flavor, but not as adjunct-laden taste as many US micros. Light bodied. Better than many mass-produced lagers, but basically a bland, sweet beer.

12 oz. with no freshness date. Served chilled in a pilsner glass. Pours a light yellow with nice effervesence and a 1 finger head that doesn't leave much lacing. Smell is a little fruity (grapes and lemon) with a bit of grass and spiciness. Taste delivers this plus hints of grains and corn. It is very clean and refreshing and it makes a good lunch beer. The low alcohol means you can drink many, however it was a bit pricey for what it is.
