A - pours a light golden hazy yellow with little foam that disappears and leaves some small bubbles on the surface

S - weak malt smell, less than expected from a pils

T - the taste is of grains and spicy hops

M/D - nothing too outstanding on this one. I feel my bottle was overcarbonated a bit or just had a dry feeling

A-Cloudy straw color with a short lived stark white 1/2 inch head. Fell to collar and thin coat.

S-Clean husky biscuit malt, mild earthy hops.

T-grainy, husky malts, earthy hops lend suprising level of bitterness, not high, just suprising. Mild sweetness creeps in before the bitter finish.

M-Nice crisp cabonation and light body.

D-okay, I could have few of these

A - This one is a grayish tinted dull yellow with a small but persistent white cap. Some loose lace is left on the glass, and several minutes later, a thin cap is still present.

S - Smells like it looks...a bit dull. The requisite pils notes are there, but not in abundance. There are hints of fruit, and a musky old-guy cologne smell too. Not bad.

T - A bit more lively here, some cologne like notes of musk and sourness are present, and the saaz hoppy flavors are nice. This is a little bit more dank than other German pilseners, and I'm reminded of Danish lagers like Grolsch.

M - Light bodied, firm, tight, and focused. This is really muscular and lean...tight, hard, angular, and extremely dry. Very refreshing too!

D - This one is a bit boring, but it's really quite drinkable despite it's flaws. I could session a six pack of this no prob. I would love to pour two of these into a big ass mug and sit out on my deck in the spring fact, that's what I'm about to do!

Appearance: bright with a straw colour. The head is white, frothy and large. It presents a fair retention and good amount of lacing.
Aroma: weak malt aroma.
Taste: grains and herbal hops.
Mouthfeel: dry, strong carbonation, low alcoholic strength (4.7% ABV), medium body.
Finish: lingering bitter aftertaste.

Overall: nothing special about this one. Not unpleasant but not appealing either.

The beer pours from the bottle a clear gold, the head is average in size, creamy in texture and the color bright white, as it settles quickly, the lace forms a velum like sheet on the glass. Nose is sweet malt, crisp and clean, start has a fair grain presence with a little bitterness at the back, top is light in feel. Finish has a standard acidity, the hops mild and pleasing, the aftertaste dry as a bone, a nice drinkable beer.

Oicked up a single at Village Farm Grocery in the East Village, across from the Ukranian place.

Damn green bottle. This one starts with a skunky nose that passes after about 15 minutes of airing out. The flavor falls flat, like a medicore Czech pils, rather than a German. The malt taste is very clean, but to the point of being bland with only a touch of hops at the end. This seems to be more of a pale Euro lager (Heineken) but with some form of hops flavor.

Pours slightly hazy yellow gold color with bright white head.

Nose is lemony/hoppy.

Palate is dry, crisp with a very familiar German pils taste - in line with DAB, Beck's, and others but without the skunk.

Very thirst quenching beer. Probably excellent with pizza.

Poured a light straw hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was decent retention and lacing.

The smell featured a medium strength spicy noble hop atop a light husky grain.

The taste consisted of an upfront spicy noble hop balanced rather well by a light graininess. Good doughy finish.

The mouthfeel was toward the light side with a vigorous carbonation.

Overall a light bodied pils that gets points for its easy drinkability.

Bischoff Pils gives off aromas of freshly mown hay and a lemony hops aroma too.

This produces about a finger thick bright white head that dissipates quickly into soft thin lacing. The body is ultra clear with a light golden presence.

This brew is not bitter at all like a typical German Pilsner. This is actually very lemony with a slight sweet undertone.

This beer is highly drinkable and a pleasure to drink.

A nice surprise from Bavarian private brewery that owes most of its fame to wheat beers and dark bocks. This tipically Bavarian pils is very clean, crisp, with malty-flowery bouquet. Pale, with creamy head and crystal-clear appearance, t doesn't fall from its big-name counterparts from the same area. Recommended!

exactly what you would expect from a standard german pilsner. nothing unusual. good/medium head, deep pilsner flavor, hoppy. finished a bit rough, but not bad. Falls in a long line of typical german type pilsner beers, good, but not unique in any sence.

Shout ot to Joe Rhodes for bringing this out to me!

While pils aren't my fav by anymeans, these were surprising. Not great, but something I would def. consider trying again.

pours a light yellow, with some head, and, commeserate lacing. The balance in this brew was between spicy and bitter. There was a nice spice to start, but the bitter citrus flavor at the end kinnda was a downer for me. It's light mouthfeel did aid it's drinkability

Like I siad, nice beer, might go get some more if I can

Appearance – Light yellow in color with some light carbonation and a decent head that showed some good retention. It also left a bit of lacing.

Smell – The light aroma here is more like a lager than a pils. It’s a bit on the musty side with some light floral hops to go with the grain along with a touch of sweetness.

Taste – The grain isn’t too bad and the smallish hops help things out a bit. The finishing sweetness is like a sprinkle of refined sugar.

Mouthfeel – The light carbonation is very refreshing in the mouth. The bier is light, as it should be.

Drinkability – This wasn’t bad but didn’t strike me as a German Pilsner.

A classic example - clean and crisp. Some soft grape flavors in the malt, moderate sweetness to balance some acidity toward the finish. Nice drinkability and fresh in character. This can hold its own against most commonly available German pils. Not too sure about the bug-eyed multi-colored bird adorning the six-pack carrier - looks like a genetic engineering experiment gone bad.

Pale golden color, carbonated fizzy head, slighty honey sweet, bready malt nose, not much but some skunk, slighty sweet taste with the malt and lightly hopped flavor.

If you like St. Pauli Girl / Beck then give this one a try.

The 7-pack is a hoot.
