Bottle from the abbey during our recent trip to Belgium. Served in a Trappist Achel glass.
ours a clear golden-yellow with a nice white head. Light lacing and a thin collar throughout. The nose brings some clove and fairly-strong alcohol. Surprisingly (and happily) the flavor doesn't have any alcohol at all. Good clove character and light bubblegum. A bit of sweetness and mild fruit. Body is medium with good carbonation and a strong yeast presence. Good clove and spice. Overall, quite tasty and a very nice tripel.

This beer is specially brewed to honor the 75th birthday of Abt Marc Gallant. It's a topfermented blond ale, bottle conditioned.
RLB only brought 1 bottle to the Tripel Fest at egajdzis place, but being this one made up for quantity - thanks RLB!
Poured a cloudy golden color with an averaged sized white head. Aromas and tastes of citrus, fruity, and light yeast. Hops come through in the tastes as well with some caramel. Lightly sweet. Some alcohol comes through in the aroma but is well hidden in the taste. I really enjoy Achel's beers and this one was not a let down.

Poured into a Chimay chalice, rich yellow-red color. Enticing aroma, a blend of citrus and damp earth, almost grassy.
Tastes of straw and wheat. Quick tease of grass on the tip of the straw which turns to a blanket of flavor as it finishes thru the rest of the tongue. Slight bitterness after the swallow
Just what I was expecting from this style.

No idea on a date, there's a date code or something on the side, 4 J 19? Doesn't mean anything to me.
A: Pours a hazy golden pour with an enormous effervescent white head. Head is soapy and thin, fades slowly however and with sparse bits of lacing.
S: A little bit grassy and a lot of wheat. Very doughy, like a sweet dough.
T: Yup, some grassy hops up front. Some white pepper to spice it up, maybe some allspice too? Doughy malt, like uncooked bread. Herbal on the back end, combined with that peppery spiciness. Fairly dry and crisp finish.
M: Medium bodied, smooth and dry.
O: Interesting tripel. On the very dry side for a tripel, in my opinion. Hoppiness is a bit high as well. It's almost like a tripel/BSPA hybrid in my mind. Tasty nonetheless.
