A: Dark dark brown with ruby red highlights. Small half finger head formed when poured with a little heat behind it, Colored like a mocha and receeded fast. It looks like a coke.

S: Suddle sweetnes and mildly roasty. An overripened apple note comes out on top when given a swirl.

T: Dark roasted coffee flavor persists from the first sip to the lingering aftertaste. Sweetness that reminds me of horchata and a round bitterness that balances the whole thing out.

M: Super low carbonation and big body.

O: An enjoyable and balanced porter. I don't think I could drink more than one in a sitting, but this would pair very well with a steak or some BBQ

12 oz bottle poured nearly black but actually dark brown with orangish highlights. The tan head is moderate in size and retention. Good lacing.

S: A surprising amount of coffee in the aroma, with plenty of dark roasted malts and a hint of chocolate.

T: Roasted malts, soft coffee, toffee and a little brown sugar. Slightly sweet at the start but turns nearly bitter by the finish

M-- Light-medium body and carbonation.

O: A good porter, not overly sweet despite the apparent scarity of hops.

A - dark brownish black with absolutely no head to speak of

S - creamy chocolate, roasted malts

T - chocolate, roasted malts, raisins, figs, plums

M - a bit thin, medium bodied, lightly carbonated

This beer is a bit disappointing. The appearance and mouthfeel both present as flat. The flavor is OK, but it lacks any complexity and could use a bit of hop bitterness for balance. This is easy to drink, but in the end forgettable. I'll pass in the future.

Poured from a bottle into a samuel adams perfect pint glass.

Appearance: pours a deep rich onyx, reminds me of the color of black licorice. Virtually no head and no lacing.

Smell: Roasted malts slight hoppy backnotes. toasted bread

Taste: Toasty bread and biscuits. Dark chocolate and weak coffee.

Mouthfeel. slippery with almost no carbonation, flatter than expected but not necessarily a bad thing.

Overall: Solid porter, i was dissapointed with the lack of head. Would be open to trying this one again.
