Notes: A Smooth and Sexy Brew.

Like golden waves of yeast crashing on a golden beach of golden sand with golden taps spewing golden beer that’s smooth as gold.

A Crisp Blonde Ale. Golden in color, medium in body—she’s brewed with the help and the honey of Durango’s Honeyville™ bees.

Light enough not to overwhelm tasty greens regardless of dressing. Works well with delicate fish. Pleasant accompaniment to lobster, clams, shrimp and crab – great w/ lobster bisque. Thirst quencher, works well with spicy/hot foods.

The taste is mildly sweet from the use of local honey, followed by bready malts, a touch of tangy wheat, a pleasantly mild bitterness, and citrus hop flavors in the end.

True blonde pours a yellow straw color with no head. Grainy and chemical aroma. Flavor is the same, grainy chemically, cheap flavor. Light and watery. Overall, not a good blonde.

What a pile of shit I hate when my laptop fucks up and then I'm left re-writing the shit I just wrote. This is a blonde ale, and it pours yellow and golden with 3/4" white head that has above average retention. The aroma is just mild grain.

Taste is a prototypical mild blonde ale. Truly, a beer for drinking and not really for contemplating. There is light pale toasted malts that have a biscuity presence ijjn the mouthfeel, a moderate amount of carbonation to help keep the levity going throughout the backside of the beer. Its non offensive and there are no off flavors. Mild bitterness and slight lemon to it.

I liked this one, even though it wasn't anything too challenging. Not hoppy enough to be a pale, and not a strong ale either, but tasty enough to have a few over the evening if you want. Low ABV, nice mellow blonde coloring, good in the summertime... sometimes that's all you need.

This beer pours a pale yellow with a large head. The aroma features soft cracker malts, a white wine quality, roses, lavender, and thyme. The flavor starts with a semi sweet doughy flavor, followed by a whack of rose petal and lavender, then a finish of slightly toasty malts. The mouthfeel is fullish, with a crisp bite and average carbonation. Overall, this is a pretty solid blonde ale - it has more going to than most examples of this style, and the big floral element is much welcomed by me.

Look: Poured from a 12 oz can. Very light and clear. Looks like a Pilsner. 1 - finger head that sticks around - nice retention.

Smell: Ample amounts of yeast and malt. Slight funk. No evidence of hops or fruit tang.

Taste: Bite of hops at first. Not overpowering, but noticeable for a bit. Bitterness fades and then you get biscuit, yeast, some wheat and malt. A bit Belgian like, but not strong. More like a lager/pilsner than an ale.

Feel: Thin. Ok carbonation.

Overall: Ok beer. Not as flavorful as many I've had. Session Beer.

Experienced on-tap at the English Dockside restaurant in Colorado Springs.

Light golden body; rich, creamy, white head. Very little aroma; faint esters. Mild, light grain flavor; fair, complimentary hop bitterness. Clean, crisp mouthful.

A fair pale ale; rather mundane but satisfactory overall.

this light ale is much better than most craft lights. It is well balanced and the honey is mild enough to not screw it up.
so many light ales now are lousy and generic. I wish I could get this up north.

Candy sweet malts then vague citrus and grass. 3.75
Corn husk end and light lemony sorbet linger.
Round, halfway to medium, creamy. 4

Pretty much on target. It could use more dimensions to the malts, the head retention is a disaster, and for this amount of flavor it could be 4% (hello, English Blondes) not 5%. But I certainly don’t need to pay attention to it while I’m drinking it. 4

This brew, from a 12 ounce can, is extremely pale, with a thin head and a light haze. The smell is soft and subtle...grain and pale malt, with some background fruit. The taste grows on you..some sweetness and malt flavors and a bitterness in the mid taste. Light in body, but very drinkable.

A- Can poured to a stange with a pale golden blonde body. A cap forms on the beer to just over one finger with a creamy consistency. Head retention is decent as it dies to a small ring and puffy islands. Lacing starts with a thick sheet with spots below.

S- Light grainy base malts, slight hops but quite faint with the yeast bringing pale fruits like apple and hints of bread.

T- Again fairly straightforward with the addition of a hint of honey sweetness. Pale fruits with bread followed by spicy hops, light cereal grainy malts and a touch of citrus.

MF- Light end body with a crisp, lightly frothy texture. Carbonation at a fairly high level. Finishes with a slight bitterness.

Not bad in any way but also doesn't do much for me. I appreciate that it is mostly clean but it just lacks any compelling flavors or use of them.

Poured from a can with an enjoy by date of 6/28/14; into a tumbler.
Appearance - bright yellow, bubbly carbonation; a thin white sheet of head that sticks around and leaves lots of lacing.
Smell - lemon, some banana and orange peel.
Taste - lemon and orange zest, some banana bread.
Feel - light, of course, flavorful early on, but an odd aftertaste and tounge coating to finish it off.
Overall - not my preference, but in a pinch I'd take a can or two to the pool.

A 355ml bottle with no visible BB date (smudged off). However I believe that this bottle is out of date - I hope it hasn't deteriorated too much. Picked up a while back from Trembling Madness in York. The ingredient list mentions that this contains wildflower honey.

Poured into a straight pint glass. A bright pale-gold colour with faint haze and medium carbonation. Forms a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before subsiding to a patchy surface layer. Some lacing. Aroma of light malt with hints of fruity ale yeast, subtle grass and faint stewed hops. Grainy and very slightly sweet, with a twinge of cardboard. Not much going on.

Tastes of light malt with a mild, dry finish. Notes of fruity ale yeast, grain, subtle grass/hay, faint earthiness and stewed hops. Well-attenuated, followed by a crisp, mild bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, dry and tingly, with pleasant carbonation and decent body that matches the style. Slightly astringent, with an weak aftertaste of light malt and fruity yeast esters.

So-so; not unpleasant but not terribly impressive either. Looks quite nice, but the aroma and flavour are bland and understated. A decent body can't rescue it. The honey might be there - an evanescent floweriness lurks in the background, however it's hard to be sure. Drinkable but forgettable. No need to seek it out.

Poured a bit into a cup to see how it looks. Pale, straw golden nice big white foamy head.

Aroma is light. Some very subtle hints of corn. Honey. Spice and citrus. All are light at the most. Kind of a lemon-snap cookie aroma

Flavors are also light. More malt than snap, but not clinging. Some clove and spice. Real easy on the palate, no corn or other defects. Light green grass.

This beer goes down quite well. Could use a bit more spice, just a bit. Body was light and carbonation seemed a bit down. Still, good summer beer

Pours out to a rocky, frothy white head that falls very little. Lacing is moderate. Pale straw-gold color. Aroma is sweet grains, floral hops and a slight butter-creme note. Flavor is mostly pale lager malt and noble hops to balance, with a dry, crisp finish. Mouthfeel is light and CO2 is appropriate. This is a very good Blonde Ale.

Ska True Blonde Ale has a thin, white head, a clear, bubbly, yellow-golden appearance, with lots of white chunks suspended throughout, and some lacing left behind. The aroma is of light, sweet, biscuity malt, sugar, and a ghost of honey. Taste is of all that, with underlying honey, faint grain husk, and yeast. Mouthfeel is light, watery, and lager like. Ska True Blonde Ale finishes crisp, clean, refreshing, dry, and highly drinkable. Overall, this is very nice, and I score it as being excellent. Get some!

Pale golden poured in the pint shaker. Pleasant carbonation in the mouth and a decent foam in the glass. Modest floral and malty aroma. A touch of resiny flavors in the back of the mouth but not much in the way of hops. Some bread and yeasty flavors, though very light. The body is also light but not watery. Quite clean and faintly bitter at the end.

I didn't think this was so damn bad. It's just another very light beer but it has a little more style and substance than the average for this category. An enjoyable brewski for the twilight on the patio. From the 12 oz can at the Radisson on the Yavapai reservation.
