Not sure if canned on or BB 9.8.23

Purchased at Dabc for $2.09

Poured at fridge temp into a nonic glass

Pours medium, nearly clear amber with a 2F sandy colored head and visible rising carbo. Nice sheet lacing trailing behind. 4

Strong and sweet caramel malt, leaning towards over-sweet. However it's nearly balanced by apple fruitiness, akin to cider/old nondescript orchard apples. 3.75

Taste was unexpected in the best way. Initially some lightly bitter hops, and then brilliantly balanced malt with a caramel afterthought and neutral is the best way I can describe it, apple. Barely sweet apple, apple skin, some light fermentation, and touch of grain as well. 4.25

Moderately dry, light carbo, frothy and on the medium bodied side. 3.75

Overall a pleasant and enjoyable red. 4

12oz can, best by April 15th 2023

On the pour, 1 finger of reddish tan head formed on top of a dark red, pushing amber body. Head recedes relatively quickly.

Aroma is led by grassy, floral, and citric hops with some yeasty character in the form of light stone fruits. Malt is present in the back with a light caramel sweetness. Slight oxidation.

Flavor isn't as hoppy, but there is a definite bitterness up front before the malt really takes over with a soft carmalt sweetness, as well as light malt ball character. Doughy yeast character present throughout.

Feel is less full bodied than expected, but only a touch. Surprisingly drinkable as the finish starts quickly and isn't all that long. Attenuation seems quite high for the style.

Overall this is a decent beer. It comes off as some cross between a scottish red and an American pale ale, which in my opinion is a little bit too contradicting, in terms of dark malt and citric hops. Despite that the feel is fitting.

Pinstripe res pours a reddish color with a big long lasting and lacing head. Smooth malty aroma. Flavor is harsh malts, subtle hints of tobacco. Weaker body. Overall a pretty average red ale.
