Pours a clear amber with a white head. Smells of caramel, sweet malts, and a hint of metal. Tastes... eh.... sweet malts and very very metallic, and some weird flavor I can't describe. Bad batch? Medium in body and carbonation. Overall it just wasn't good. Maybe I got a bad batch because most people seem to think it's ok.

L: Pours a slightly dull copper orange color with a small white head and not much lacing.

S:. Dry grain, sweet malt with notes of caramel and some floral weedy hops.

T:. Dry husky grain with a strong note of floral weedy hops, with a slightly stringent bitterness.

F: Medium body and creamy carbonation.

O: This is an average beer, nothing mind blowing but solid.

12 oz. Bottle

Pours a nice amber color, nice carbonation, with a pretty nice one-finger thick/creamy off-white head, which leaves some sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, citrus. The taste is hoppy, malty, citrusy. Medium body. Overall, a tasty brew.

Nice, burnished-autumn color; minimal head, but solid fat-bubble apparent fizz. Very nice nose: dry, husky notes; bit of barn-floor grain; some underlying deglazed-pan or demi-glace sweetness; hay and tarragon. Tasty, but less impressive taste-spectrum, with little in the way of sticky-red strata, with the absence clearing space for an abundance of dry malty bite; indeed, this is quite a different vector for a so-called "red ale", seeming much more akin in overall impression to strident those malty-grassy pilsners, or cooler-fermented alt biers, that can taste aggressively crisp. There is, at the finish, a touch of reclaiming sweetness, along with a reasserting of those bitter-hay and dry tarragon notes detectable on the nose, which—along with the medium-light mouthfeel—continue the "crisper" trend and hold this red much more airy and bright than most of its nominal species (though still with enough heft that I wouldn't call it "fresh").

Great appearance here, red, good clarity, over an inch of white head on it. Solid artwork.
Aroma hit you with all the red ale smells, for better and worse, traditionally driven, not all that hoppy.

Body is lighter than the appearance would lead you to believe, light hops. Sweet like oktoberfest. A decent beer that is underhopped for today's needs.

It's a little on the light side for a red ale but still has a good amount of flavor. it's not the best red ale i've ever had but one i would drink again.
