Poured into a pint glass. Thanks to LusciousJackson for this.
4.0 A: Clear deep amber mahogany color. One finger of beige, creamy head with average retention and a nice ring of lacing.
2.5 S: The nose is weak overall, but the worst part is how weak the nuttiness is. It is too weak to be pleasant and I'd actually prefer it to not be there at all. It's about as satisfying as a Coca-Cola that has sat in a glass with ice for too long. Grainy overall, with a touch of breadiness. Not impressed.
2.5 T: Taste is pretty much the same of the nose. Grainy backbone with watered down nuttiness and toastiness. Doubly not impressed.
2.0 M: Water body. Good moderate carbonation. Smooth because it is akin to water.
2.5 D: Certainly worse that average. They need to throw in some more malt and mash a lot higher. Too light and watery to appreciate.

Appearance - Big tan head with decent stick and decent retention. Head readily returns with a gentle swirl of the glass. Clear, deep to medium-deep brown body. 4
Smell - Coffee, nut, caramel. 4
Taste - Nutty. Coffee. 4.25
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied. Almost creamy but also effervescent enough to cut through that and leave a clean finish. 4.25
Overall - Delicious, appetizing. Smooth. 4.25

Chestnut; bread crust + Frangellico; toasted front, tart bite, some caramel nut sweetness, and a bitter cut; medium + chewy; dry finish.

Very English. Simple to a fault, if still better than Nukey. Sessionable, but as these come into vogue there are better examples.

Poured into a mug, the appearance was a semi-burnt dark orange almost brown color with a finger's worth of white foamy head that slid off at a moderate pace. Some light lace.
The aroma had some sweet to roasty nuts, somewhat like pecans and then a gentle roasted coffee bean backdrop. Slight earthy hops.
The flavor leaned into the sweetness initially and then developed a little bit of roast from the coffee bean. Earthiness seemed barely there. Aftertaste of nuts, somewhat sweet and roasty.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt good, somewhat low, but I didn't mind. ABV felt appropriate.
Overall, pretty nicely done English brown ale that I would have again if I could get it.

Poured from the bottle into a glass.
Light brown color; light easily passes through.
Nice offwhite head; decent lacing.
Nuts & coffee in the nose.
Medium thin mouthfeel.
Not a ton of flavor here, hints of coffee & nuts but mostly on the watery side. Smells better than it tastes.
