Very Good
Moral PanicMoral Panic
Notes: Huge tropical hop aromatics with an exceptionally dry finish. A wealth of Galaxy and Citra hops added post-boil give this Brut IPA low actual bitterness and big tropical flavor. Fruity and citrus notes abound in this smooth and refreshing, Champagne-like brew. Moral Panic Brut IPA is well carbonated and spritz; drinks easy and finishes dry.

12oz can. Poured out a hazy, golden orange color with a small, white head of bubbly foam. It smelled of orange, grapefruit and sweet caramel. Sweet, citrusy taste up front with caramel and sharp bitterness.

can (into glass)
Slightly hazy pale yellow color. Definitive essence of musty grapefruit peel on the nose. Light bodied with mild grapefruit flavor and mild hoppiness to boot.

Another omnipresent Brut IPA... this one is light, soft, hoppy, and bright. The appearance is lightly hazy and straw in color. Full white head with lots of attractive lace. The taste is dry ,but the full mouthfeel makes it feel very balanced. Nice and approachable.

Clear and brassy with a minimal off-white froth. The aroma is limited to faint notes of straw and lemon. Tastes of more straw and lemon before notes of pear, florals and perfume come into play. Faint herb and pine is noticed among some spicy alcohol heat in the finish. Becomes more grainy/biscuity as it warms. Light in body and so clean and dry.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, best before 5/4/2019. Pours slightly hazy pale golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, red apple, mango, melon, gooseberry, white grape/wine, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, red apple, mango, melon, gooseberry, white grape/wine, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, red apple, mango, melon, gooseberry, white grape/wine, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate pale malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and fairly resinous/rindy balance mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 5.75%. Overall this is an excellent brut IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink with the modestly bitter/resinous/drying finish, not aggressive. Feels like Nelson Sauvin, Galaxy, Simcoe. Very vibrant, dank, earthy, and fairly juicy hop complexity; with a solid pale malt backbone. No residual sweetness from crisp dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

this has come on the scene pretty hot the last few months, and now i see why. the packaging is cool, a sharper look for these guys, and the beer is fantastic, one of the better ska beers i have had in some time, and also one of the better brut ipa types in the market right now, so many of these never get where they set out to go, and right from the first sip of this one, its bright, effervescent, refreshing, fully hoppy, and super clean. i was impressed to be sure. light in color, highly fizzy, and with a great aroma of smashed pineapple and like a gin fizz or something herbaceous and springy like that. awesome freshness on the taste too. passion fruit and lemon notes, like a melted tropical popsicle, but its brilliantly dry, so it doesnt linger or turn into candy hops or anything. carbonation is so high, refreshing like champagne, almost gives it a white wine flavor its so explosive somehow. when its ice cold its like a three or four sip can, but when it warms up a little, its even more flavorful. the hops dont need to be bitter because it finishes so fast, and overall i am just so keen to drink these by the dozen. ska has restored my faith in the style a bit with this one, ill drink it all summer...

Poured cold from 12-ounce can into a tulip glass. Slightly hazy pale yellow in color, with a couple of fingers of snow white head that left a bit of sticky lacing. This seems spot-on for the style. Big aromas and flavors of mango, orange, pineapple, and grapefruit, with light notes of pine and zest. Good carbonation, nicely effervescent. Bitterness is understated. Finish is crisp and dry. Light malt, well attenuated, with no sweetness lingering on the palate. Great pairing with spicy food. Well done!

Pours a hazy pale orange with a finger and a half of white foam. Head retention is okay. Aroma is grapefruit, papaya, orange, bread, biscuity malts. Flavor profile is grapefruit, papaya, lemon zest, orange, and tangerine with hints of bready, biscuity malts. It has a light dryness to the finish, but the juicy tropical fruit notes do linger for a long while afterwards. Mouth feel is lightly harsh via the carbonation, with a touch of softness at the edges. It has a medium-thin consistency. Overall, a tasty beer with a light dryness that doesn't shrivel the entire flavor profile up in a matter of seconds. In other words, it's a little more 'juicy' and sweet than other Brut IPAs, but it does have a light dryness factor. Makes for an easy drinking, but flavor, beer.

Served in a 15.5oz Spiegalau tulip from a 12oz can.

This is what I’m hoping for out of a brut IPA. Actually tastes like a bubbly champagne especially when ice cold. With a little added body from the hops. As it warms the hop flavor becomes more apparent. So far I judge all other brut ipa’s against this one and none have lived up.
