Can I have expires October 1st so this definitely cant be the freshest. Really good feel but im not tasting anything except mild bitterness and fruit. I'll try it again in the future, I had Cursed by Trve before this so maybe my palate is shot. Aroma was barely there as well. I hope its better next time

Pint at the Denver Airport Coors Sports Grill on 6.4.21 for around $10.00 if memory serves me right.

Beer was a hazy gold with an okay head.

Nose had hints of citrus.

Taste was on the sweet side with orange and mango. Hopping was not quite up to IPA standards; 4/10 on my scale.

Mouthfeel was light to medium bodied and refreshing.

Overall a pretty decent beer worthy of a shot.

On tap at the brewery. I think the Tropical Hazy is this base plus a dose of papaya/passionfruit (?). Prefer this. Solid NEIPA.

Top: forms barely an inch of white head, which disappears fast. Some lacing remains.

Colour: hazy as stated, indeed. Peach juice color, no transparency at all, a typical NEIPA look.

Smell: lemon, lemongrass, pineapple. Intense and lovely.

Taste: follows the nose, citrus overload, some decent sourness, moderated (light) bitterness. Medium+ carbonation, with microbubbles. Medium- body.
Strong peppery and semi-dry finish. Sourness and some bitterness remains in the aftertaste.

Summary: a definitely interesting one. It’s awakening and absolutely fresh. It presents a full lemon experience (including the peels) merged into a NEIPA. Doesn’t lack the character, for sure, it might be a tad too agressive. It’s not for everyone, but I enjoyed it. Not sure if I want one more soon, tho.

Pours a very gold/bronze with rapidly disappearing beige head. Some head retention & lacing

S: Oranges and tropical fruits, nose fades over time

T: Nectarine, green melon, strawberry & dryness up front. Sweet orange, dryness and lime as this warms. Finishes with green melon & tangerine

MF: Medium body, restrained carbonation, good balance

Pretty drinkable, a decent take on the style

From a 12oz can:

Appearance: Murky yellow, good head.

Smell: Sweet, mix of fruit and citrus.

Taste: Moderate sweetness, fruity, citrus, a little bitterness. Tasty stuff.

Overall: I forget about Ska sometimes, but I really like their hoppy beers. Modus hoperandi is great, and this hazy IPA is another tasty one. Hits the spot, fruity but no hop burn or overt OJ to it.

12oz can. Poured out a pale golden color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled tropical with sweet caramel and toffee. Sweet pineapple, mango and orange flavors with a subtle bitterness and toasted caramel.

CAN
Hazy with a ribbon of foam; pineapple, tangerine juice, green Jujyfruits and powdered citrus drink mix nose; lime granata, sugared grapefruit, cantaloupe, honeydew, apricot, touch of vanilla(?)but also a thread of dank; zesty end, tingly bitterness, light to medium some chew.

Citra, Idaho 7, El Dorado, Galaxy and Bravo

Jan 17, ‘21 BBD, so likely 9 weeks old.
There are a ton of sparkly, high fruity notes on the nose that (mostly) carry through to the taste. Brewers seem to have a concept in mind with how they’re using these particular hops - no Galaxy swampiness or rustic Idaho 7.
It’s not New England (too thin + bitter; low on esters) but I don’t think it’s trying to be.
There’s this steady ribbon of resin that would let you know that this is Ska after all, pulling it back to Sunkist when it threatens to go too candy store.
A bit thin, but that ends up helping the drinkability.

Overall, balances a few different influences + makes good use of newer hops.

12oz can poured into Duvel tulip. 01/23/2020 printed on bottom of can. So this still has 2 months left in it. Part of $10 sixer mixer.

Appearance - Pours extremely loose one-finger soapy white head with almost no lacing but the faintest of wisps. Impressively opaque dulled medium-yellow body. 3.75

Smell - Honey and citrus rind. Some grassiness. Not particularly strong or interesting. 3

Taste - Alcohol, grass, and that harsh citrus rind up front. 3

Mouthfeel - Moderately to strong astringency. Finishes fairly clean though considering. 3

Overall - Somehow its off characters don't seem to make it undrinkable. Harsh and not particularly interesting, but despite it, it's fairly balanced if you like a moderately aggressive drink. 3
