This beer pours a pale amber with a large head, The aroma is classic, with caramel and toasted malts, pine, bitter orange peel, and dried mango. The flavor starts slightly sweet, with burnt sugar caramel malts leading, then becomes fruity, with citrus peel, dried mango, mandarin orange, and finishes with a nice and bitter dry pine. The mouthfeel is fairly full, with bright carbonation. Overall this is an excellent beer - a classic wets coast IPA that hits all the right notes.

This was poured into a nonic pint glass. The appearance was a nice bronzed caramel color with a slim finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipiated within seconds. Stringy lacing speckled the glass here and there. The smell had a sweet to slightly spiced citrus and earthy caramel running in and out. The taste was moderately sweet and sticky citrus with a semi-dry citrus aftertaste and lightly noted dry citrus finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation hits decently as an AIPA and leaves a moderately harsh bitter feel. Overall, this was a pretty good AIPA that I would have again.

Another great IPA that I don't mind drinking at all. I'll be buying more.

Poured from a 12 oz. can into an IPA glass.

Appearance: Pours a clear amber orange. Moderate amount of bubbles and a big three finger off white head that settles into a thinner creamy layer.

Smell: A juicy and earthy hop driven aroma with a scent of citrus, grass, and pine. Citrus hop scent of grapefruit, orange peel, mango, and tangerine along with pineapple. Earthy hop scent of pine resin and grass. Malt scent of caramel, grains, and cracker along with yeast. A really nice aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a juicy and earthy hop forward taste with notes of citrus fruit, pine, and grass. Citrus hop notes of orange peel, grapefruit, mango, and tangerine with some pineapple. Earthy hop notes of grass and pine resin. Malt notes of caramel, cracker, and grains along with some yeast. A very good hoppy taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Juicy, fairly oily, and drying.

Overall: A very good IPA. Nice mix of citrus, grass, and pine hop notes with a solid caramel malt backing.

Color is deep amber with some red. Lacing is present and pretty. Head is minimal. Aroma is medium plus intensity and very nice; pine needles, sap, overripe grapefruit, overripe pineapple, tilled fresh earth. Palate is less sappy more citrus and tropical fruit, bread and toast malt, though finishing in bitter grapefruit and pine needles. Pros nice lacing, big beautiful aroma, not too bitter of a finish, nice full body, balanced alcohol with only slight bitter alcohol cloy, delicious, nice balance. Cons minimal head, high alcohol (6.8), less refreshing then others because of intensity of flavor. 93/100.

Pours a gorgeous amber, smells of hops, grapefruit, orange pith. Taste follows, just a little too hoppy for me with little malt and no brown sugar to temper the bitterness. Nice feel, glad I tried it. Now let's try something else.

Way over-rated. A metallic after-taste wouldn't quit and revealed reliance on hops and less on craft.
My first from Ska, I can't give a good review.

This is a beautiful beer that tastes almost medicinally bitter. There's so little going on flavor wise, other than bitterness. I was disappointed...perhaps because I'd spent the afternoon drinking Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA?
