look: 4 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 3.75

a: a dark, rich amber color. so rich it almost has some purple and ruby red notes. pretty clear. 3 finger tan white head

s: smell is juicy citrus - grapefruit, mango, hint of passion fruit. nice rich pine syrup, big bready malty backbone as well. aroma finishes with clean hops. its a really well balance smelling beer

t: taste is much more pine-forward than the aroma. pine, sap, earthy bitterness, unsweetened tea all at the front. middle of the mouth hits you with some of that piney, grapefruit bitterness. the finish is some sweet caramel malt and a slightly syrup-like flavor

m: medium mouthfeel with enough carbonation to make you feel it in your stomach after a few sips

o: reminds me of a toned-down Torpedo. i'm not a huge Torpedo guy, and for some reason this isn't really catching me either. if you like pine-forward beers, this will really be down your alley. its clean, has a real nice pine & pine bitterness taste. it feels a little too rich for a 6.8%, but if you drink it a little colder that won't really matter so much. overall, i can tell its a really solid beer, however it just isn't speaking to me
