This beer came to me as an extra in a trade. I'm really glad it did because this IPA was a big surprise. I'm partial to IPA's with citrus notes that are well balanced. This one had a hint of citrus but is strong on the pine smell and taste. Pine dominant beers usually aren't my thing, but it works so well with this beer that it was a great change from my usual rotation of IPA's. The balance comes in with a nice malt finish that sneeks in just enough sweetness to make this beer very drinkable. I recommend that you seek Modus out if you can buy it in your area.

Brought back from the brewery in Durango, CO.

A- Can pour to a snifter with a clear golden body. A small white cap rises up to about half a finger with a frothy texture and fair retention. A small ring leaves seldom spotty lace.

S- Citrus and floral hops with hints of malts coming through but not enough to really affect the hops.

T- Grapefruit and orange zesty citrus hops with pine, floral and bitter grassy notes as well. Lightly malty but no significant sweets or caramelized notes to interrupt the clean hops. Light yeast bread but clean beyond that.

MF- Lighter end body with a crisp, creamy consistency. Carbonation comes in moderately high with a clean, medium bitterness lingering in the finish.

Citrus forward with nice pine and floral hops to round it out. Hints of grains but the hops are still the emphasis and delivered just fine.

Clear amber colour, one finger of white head good lace. Smell is quite hoppy and fruity, mango, grapefruit and pineapple, sweet caramel backbone as well. Taste is of dank pine and tropical fruits, mango and some grapefruit, sweet caramel with a malty mid palate sweetness, light-medium bitterness but big hop flavour. Lightly carbonated, medium sticky-oily body. Really good reminds me in ways of a dank Red Racer which is never a bad thing.
