Poured from a 12 oz. can into a becker glass.

A: Clear, pale golden color with less than one finger of diminishing white foam head. Light lacing remains on the glass and an isolated and lazy bubble or two rises slowly through the column.

S: Initially grassy and slightly floral, this beer's smell deflates quickly after being poured. The lingering smells include understated lemon-lime soda, uncooked flour, and vacuous carbon dioxide.

T: Begins dry, with refined light malt and energetic citric acidity. Sweetness intrudes into the middle as malt stays light but becomes more husky. Bitterness is low during the finish, herbaceous; honey and delicate grain linger on the palate.

M: Thin viscosity, wet on the palate, with moderate carbonation.

D/O: This beer appears to be an all-malt pale lager that follows the archetype closely but does it well. Flavors and textures seem under tight control, if not particularly exciting. The smell has less appeal, not really matching the sensory profile of the flavor, while the beer appears to try to hide in the glass and not draw attention to itself.

From BeerAdvocate Magazine #90 (July 2014):

Light, Crisp, Herbal, Refreshing

This Mexican-style Lager pours out of the can very pale, bright, straw in color with a thin creamy white head. Light aromas of cereal grains and herbal hops. Very clean. Light-bodied, but smooth on the palate with a crisp carbonation edge. Low bitterness, but flavorful with a pleasant citrus rind bite, light spice, and an herbal flavor. Grainy, earthy finish. This is a straight-forward, highly sessionable, clean, flavorful lager, that doesn’t need a lime to make it taste better (but it tastes great with one too). The only problem with this beer is that it’s not year-round.

Preface: Once again, I always rate a brew to style...

A - A very nice clear Yellow with an equally as nice white soapy/foamy head. Head pours very rich with good sustainability. Head leaves some nice lacing behind too. There's a slight straw color to both the head and the brew.

S - WOW, for a Lager, this is one of the best scent's I've ever smelt! Very nice a light, yet very powerful orange scent. Almost smells like an ocean, in a good way. Rose and light caramel also comes to mind. Clearly (as you can see from the logo) there's Saaz hops in this one.

T - WOW, Can't beat this one. Has a ton of deep flavors; for a Lager. Very smooth and delicious, there's absolutely no off flavors in this brew. All the flavors blend very well. Well balanced hops, a very early hop schedule. Zero biterness and full flavor! Maybe some slight green chili too

M - WET! Very light and airy. Amazing carbonation. Very little I would do differently! Clean, crisp, refreshing....

O - I cannot wait to take this one to the fishing stream or out backpacking! Quite the brew, I'm very excited SKA finally started distributing this one! SKA nailed the Lager style. A must try... LOOK OUT Another6pack....

Cheers!

Iam not sure what a Mexican style lager is,I guess this is it.Poured two cans into a stein, light golden with a thinner clingy white head.Clean aromas, only light toasted grain, and a hint of honey.Very light feel to the beer, wich is ok for a hot day, flavors are pretty clean but there is a decent toastiness to it,a subtle honey sweet ending.Hops provide a light smattering of herbalness as I drink more.Hey its not anything great but it fits a good role for summertime drinking.

12oz can. Pours a clear very light yellow with a fluffy white head that goes to a thin film that leaves some lacing.

The aroma is subdued - some sweet malt with some floral, slightly metallic hops (Saaz?).

The flavor is sweet corny cereal malts with a good amount of bitterness from the Saaz in the finish. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with a little sharp carbonation.

Overall, not nearly as bad as I feared. It's kind of a cross between a Mexican lager and a Pilsner. A pretty well balanced light beer. A bit too much corny malt for me though.

(Served in a strange)
A- This beer pours a pale yellow crystal clear body with a snow white bubbly head. There is a sea of slow microbubbles working to the surface.

S- The clean dry corn hint has a mellow green hop hint in the finish. Otherwise the aroma is very clean.

T- The dry field corn and pale malt hints have some soft dry finish of mellow green hops. There is a dry corn taste that lingers a moment.

M- The medium-light mouthfeel has a spicy fizz in the finish and no alcohol heat.

O- This beer is dry and fizzy without much flavor and the hops that are a bit dull and one-dimensional.

This beer pours a clear straw golden colored beer with a very small white head that quickly dies leaving no lacing on this beer, not at all like most Mexican beers.

Very light citrus to floral hops aroma with a light lemon sticking out the most.

A light taste that blends light malt and light citrus hops together equally.

A light lemony dryish aftertaste on this light bodied beer.

A light bodied beer that just seemed to lighten my pocket without giving me much needed tastes.

#BOTG 48 is Ska Mexican Logger! Its pretty freakin hot outside, and nice to get a craft alternative to Mexican shitty lager from Ska. Poured from can into Brooklyn tulip. Pours a super cloudy sunshine yellow color. Crazy, not what I expected for color. No head whatsoever. Smell- not much of anything. Maybe a little whiff of corn. Taste- very smooth, clean, crisp. Some sweetness on the end. A little bit of bitterness from the hops. This neither smells or tastes like anything. But, I could see POUNDING this at the pool this summer. Much better than AAL, but nothing special here. But, I will buy this instead of Corona, Dos Equis, etc anyday.

a: pours a golden straw color.. active carbonation streaming up to form a 1 finger bright white head.. settles to a thin soapy film..
clear body.

s: grain, pale malts. hints of rice? .. almost like a lemon-lime alkaseltzer aroma..

t: grain, sweet pale malts, slight lemony taste.. finish is somewhat earthy bitterness.. leaves a lingering kind of off putting flavor on the palate..almost soapy.. meh..

mf: light bodied, medium to high carbonation with a crisp finish.

o: expected a little bit more from this beer.. a definite step up from all the macros out there.. still prefer Gusto Schlitz.

A - clear, see through gold with a soft, white lacing of head that fades fast

S - mild grains, spicy herbal Saaz hops

T - bready, grainy, spicy, herbal, bitter

M - light to medium bodied, very crisp, overcarbonated

This has potential. The Saaz hops are fantastic but the malt character is a bit unbalanced. If they're trying to make a hoppier version of a Mexican-style lager, they'll have to scale back the bread notes and lighten the malt. It's drinkable and sessionable, but I won't be buying it again.

Appearance: Straw golden with very little carbonation, but there is some. Pretty good lacing and dissipates into a thin layer on top of the beer.

Smell: Very nice subtle smell. Smells like grass, lemon, and caramel. Very malty. Extremely neutral smell, but it is refreshing.

Taste/Mouthfeel: Lemon and grapes. Very fruity for a pale lager. Thin mouthfeel that is definitely too watery.

Overall Drinkability: If it weren't for the mouthfeel, I would love this. Very refreshing beer.

The Mexican logger is a sound good american pale ale. Its appearance is typical....average....smell includes the Saaz hop similar to others. The taste to me is much better balanced than the big marcos put out. The body is a nice medium to loght with good carbonation. overall a very tastee beer....probably one of the better american pales I've had.
