This has to be one of the best, if not the best IPA's I have ever had!! It is delicately bitter yet well balanced, aromatics smell like hibiscus, honeysuckle, and earthy tones. The ingredients are high in quality and you can definetely taste the purity and craftsmanship that goes into this bottle of supergoose. A great thing about the company is that you can visit the brewery/pub and see the beer made before your eyes and this is where you will really appreciate the dedication that goes into making such a fine quality beer. I will definetely recomend this beer and others made from Hales Ales to friends and customers, this company has hit the nail right on the head with their brews. If you are considering trying this beer you should definetely try it because you will not be dissapointed.

This was a pleasure to drink out of a tulip glass on the patio of the Hale's Brewpub as the sun came out. lovely shade of slightly reddish dark brown with a huge PNW hop nose. The beer is full on hops with some malt to back it all up. This is a big DIPA done well with great drinkability. I just kept sipping away enjoying the nuances as it warmed up. Mixed the last 1/4 of the glass with a half a glass of Troll Porter to create a kind of Dark IPA. Great beer mix

I had this one on cask at the Belmont Station Biercafe, served in a tulip pint glass.

A= This ale poured a lightly hazed bright orange copper color with a super creamy 3/4" white head. The head retained a good long while and left big sheets of white lace down my glass.

A= Aromas of citrus and floral hops were bursting from the glass. The malt smell was caramelly and bready.

T= Super juicy, over the top hop flavors of citrus and floral deliciousness. Bitterness was high enough to let you know it was there without any harsh piney bite. The malt base layed down a lot of caramel sweetness that balanced this brew significantly. Finished modestly dry with a lovely aftertaste of juicy hops.

MF= Medium bodied, with a super soft and silky cask delivered feel. Carbonation was there but not there. Sublime.

D= I don't know how this beer is under forced carbonation, but on cask it was a delight. Everything a cask IPA should be in my opinion. Easily sessionable despite the significant ABV, making this one dangerous.

Picked this up on my recent trip to the Northwest. About 3 fingers of head form in my special Sam Adams glass. Creamy with lots of structure. Excellent retention. Deep Orange/Amber color... More Copper I guess. No visible carbonation. Huge Clumps lacing sticks everywhere. Seriously, looks like whipped cream. Pretty damn good looking beer.

Aroma is fantastic. Fresh, bright citrus, juicy.

Woow, this is a pretty damn good IPA. While it's certainly hoppy, the balance is quite impressive. Initial burst of fruity esters, some light biscuit flavors and a burst of grapefruit both the fruit and the peel. This slowly settles to a wonderful lingering bitterness. Just a touch of abv detected. A brief moment of sweetness in the middle centers the flavor and provides that needed balance. Don't get me wrong, the hop presence is huge here.

Medium bodied and smooth. Just the slightest touch of carbonation.

I find this extraordinarily drinkable and a fantastic. IPA. I am going to have to score this and then see where it fits in among my favorite IPA's. It certainly stands up to some of the top ones.

Some IPA's aren't so good on cask, while others are quite tasty indeed. The goose, I would say, falls into the latter category.

At Belmont Station the other day.

SG pours an orange amber color with very good head retention and considerable sticky lacing all around. The nose is likewise attractive, with citrus, pepper, something of a cereal or grain aroma, and a hint of dank earth. Good as this beer smells, on the palate it's flat out delicious. There is a nice malty fruitiness up front, which imparts some very nice mandarin orange and maraschino cherry initially, but then the hoppy bitterness comes on strong, balancing this beer beautifully. This beer really has outstanding balance, but with the hoppy bitterness taking over in the finish (just the way I like it). Mouthfeel has a creamy consistency, but with a bit of prickliness from the hoppy bitterness. The finish is long and smooth, with nary a rough edge or discordant note detected anywhere. Drinkability is very good; this the sort of IPA where each sip just begs for another.

SG is the sort of IPA that you could stay with all night and never get tired of. Just an altogether lovely beer.

Note: One of the problems with cask conditioned beers is that they often times don't hold up very long, and so need to be consumed fairly quickly. Stopped by Belmont Station for another glass Monday evening and the beer had deteriorated considerably. Carbonation was nearly all gone, with the beer tasting very flat and excessively bitter. Probably would have scored this beer a B- if I reviewed it on Monday (instead of Friday). So probably a good idea to ask how long ago this beer was tapped if one sees this on cask ever again.
