500 ml can, bought in Riga, as "Cesu Premium Alus Limited Edition", but I suspect the "Limited Edition" only refers to the design of the can, not the beer inside! ABV is 5.2%. Pale golden colour, large and lasting white head. Fruity aroma with notes of candy. Fizzy mouthfeel, light bodied, thin. The flavour is fairly sweet with fruity notes, low bitterness. No masterpiece this one.

Maybe my first Latvian. Standard euro lager.

1 pint can.
Pours straw yellow beer with thin and liquid white head, poor and bleak, leaving extinguished ring rapidly. Smell of baker yeasts and dough. Dull taste of bread with weak hop traces, disappointingly. Light body and medium carbonation. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

500ml. bottle: I found this at Beers of the World and decided to add another country to my experience. As near as I can figure this is the name in Eurpoe for the beer that I rated. In the US it is called "Piebalgas Minhauzena Alus". This one pours a slightly hazy golden yellow color. There was a small head that died out quickly. The aroma is OK, with some malt sweetness and a hint of floral and breadiness. The taste is OK, similar to American macros, but a little better and stronger, although it is still a lighter beer.

A colleague brought this back from Riga. Comes in a half-liter white can with pinstripes and a red emblem on front and back. Everything is in Latvian except Oldest Brewery in the Baltics. OK. No ingredient information, and no freshness date.
Pours a slightly dark clear gold under a thin off white head that disappears quickly. Theres not much in the nose, really, except alcohol; maybe some grain. The mouth is prickly and fairly heavy with adjunct corn or rice. The taste is very grainy with just a mild touch of metallic hops in the finish. Not much aftertaste. I remember this being better on tap in Riga in 1998. This one is nothing to write home about.
