Color is more golden than amber in the big chalice. Plenty of sudsy mouthfeel, though short on lacing in the glass. Fairly light body. Citrus aroma with some fruity notes.

This is quite seriously hopped. Bitterness is on the brutal side after a few sips. Hops are listed as Cluster and Cascade with dry-hopped Cascade as well. There is a sweet tang but no real malt flavor. Grapefruit juice and pith dominates the taste.

Some pleasant aromatics before the bitterness sets in, but I don't find this very drinkable. This seems like the same West Coast or San Diego IPA nonsense all over again. Take that as a recommendation if that's where your heart is. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Pioneer Market in La Conner.

The color is a clear light copper with a super light carbonation seen rising at a moderate pace. There was a one finger white rocky foamy head that dies into a two filmy valleys. The aroma has some light grapefruit to light lemon/citrus. There’s also some light piney spice going on. The taste is mainly bitter through the hop content of the grapefruit, lemon/citrus and the piney spice. Are the malts even there? Yes, but extremely subdued. On the palate, this one sat fairly light packing a decent sessionability about it. The carbonation seems to be right on for the IPA style. There is a slight bitter pine aftertaste and a dry finish. Overall, session IPA, damn well it is.

20oz pint at the Idaho Pour Authority - nothing like showing up at an establishment at the precise moment that they're opening up.

This beer appears a clear, medium golden amber colour, with one skinny finger of wispy and bubbly beige head, which leaves some decent disintegrating snow mass lace around the glass as it slowly abates.

It smells of bready, crackery pale malt, a twinge of biscuity caramel, watery pine resin, fresh-squeezed orange juice, and mild herbal, leafy hops. The taste is gritty, grainy pale malt, a fading caramel sweetness, still edgy pine needle bitters, a touch of hard water flintiness, and a steady herbal and grassy hoppiness.

The carbonation is fairly low-key in its plainly rendered frothiness, the body medium-light in weight, and generally smooth, the hops doing well to stay out of way. It finishes fairly dry, the hops continuing to stiff-arm the lingering graininess.

I'm not altogether certain how a 5.5% ABV can be considered a session brew, but with IPA booze levels creeping up (as well as down, obviously) of late, it's not all that surprising. Overall, an easy-drinking, refreshing IPA on a burgeoning hot summer day - especially taken in a cool, friendly (beer and otherwise) suds joint.

On tap at PreFunk, but most bottleshops and even some grocery stores have this in now. Pours a slightly hazed light orange/dark gold.. short-lived white head leaves very little in the way of lacing.. Nose is big-time hoppy, especially for a "session IPA" ... Pithy citrus and a whaff of pale maltiness is the only thing to mention.. Flavor also is surprisingly hoppy with a big bitterness that actually distracts from the hop flavors.. Just enough malt to bring this into the enjoyable territory... Not bad at all... I might have to give No-LI more of a chance.

Pours a hazy honey yellow with a foamy beige head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Thick rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of citrus fruit, citrus zest, and grass aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus fruit, citrus zest, and grapefruit juice flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with solid citrus forward hop characteristics all around.

Terribly overcarbonated pours straight foam into the glass. Smells strongly of lychee and grassy hops which would be amazing if it followed trhough in the taste. Fighting through the carbonation there is very little piney and citrusy hop character, some wet steely grains and a dead thump of bitterness on the palate. It's all foam, takes nearly 10 minutes for enough liquid to appear at the bottom of the pint to drink. Done with this brewery. They need to quality control their stuff, that's 2/3 bottles that I have had that suffer from the overcarbonation issue.

Poured into an IPA glass from a 22 oz bomber.

Pours a light clear gold color with a one finger white head. Fades pretty quickly and not a lot of lacing. Smell is light malt, peach and orange rind with some earthy aroma. Flavor is malt with some nectarine and citrus. Builds to clean bitter finish that lingers nicely. Body is light with a light to moderate carbonation.

Overall, better than I expected from a session IPA, whatever that means. Nicely balanced.
