This is a great bar with a real nice vibe. The selection isn't the greatest, but there are some quality beers on tap and in bottle to be found. The food is really great, the blackened shrimp po boy is especially delicious.

Amazing food and booze. Literally in a neighborhood on a corner. Stop in for a beer and burger, one of the best in alabama. Correction: one of the best I've ever had!

Doesn't look like much on the outside, but is a great place to spend some time. It's off the main road and a locals joint. Excellent place to be on a nice day with the hurricane shutters opened.

You have to love a corner bar with big, wide windows that open onto the outdoor sidewalk seating. I visited on a Sunday night in late June and a four-piece jazz band was in full swing as I entered. The shuffleboard table along the left wall had been covered for the evening, but the long, white Formica topped bar was open for business. This place had a much more authentic Irish-American atmosphere than those two FL McGuire's locations. Booths ran along the right wall and the center was filled with standard restaurant tables and chairs.

Beers: Five taps - Yuengling Lager; Woodchurch Cider; Guiness N2; Harp; and Smithwick's. The bottles were mostly standards with four Sam Adams and two Bell's.

It's an institution and if you go to mobile you must stop by. I always start off with a Smithwicks (on draft) and a hamburger. This is a great place to start a night out or just hang out all night. The hamburgers are fantastic but the atmosphere is really what makes this place great.

The place is located in a residential neighborhood so parking can be an issue, and when there is a band there can be a ridiculous cover charge. So it might be good to avoid on holidays (especially mardi gras and St. Paddy's day). But for regular weekends in mobile it's the place to be.
