Plenty of yeasty sediment in the bottom of the bottle. Huge eruption upon opening. Semi-transparent light gold with a giant white head that slowly fades into a floating cap. Plenty of scattered lacing is left around the glass. Massive amounts of carbonation streams quickly rise to the top.
Smell is of doughy bread, dark, rum sugar, citrusy lemons, and a very mild touch of raisins. Perhaps a faint hint of grains of paradise.
Taste is of the aromas with very tame, refreshing flavors pulling through.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, sweet, sticky, and crisp.

When in Rome...best way to combat the June heat in the Caymans is with an ice-cold Stingray. Nice, light color with greater depth than typical Caribbean or Mexican counterparts. Drinks a lot like a Canadian pilsener with mellow hop/malt characteristics. Well carbonated. For beachside, it does the trick.

Drank some of these while vacationing at Morritts on the east end of the island. Pours very light with a good, albeit short lived, white head with no lacing. Very faint yeast scents and equally light in flavor. Carbonation and mouth feel remind me of some of the mass produced american light beers. All that said, on ice while lying on the beach at Rum Point on the north side they sure went down nicely in mid 80 temps in February!!

A co-worker brought this bottle back to me from the Cayman Islands. The first thing I noticed was some sediment in the bottom to the bottle, which I found odd in a lager. The beer poured a clear yellow and had a tight head that quickly went down to about a 1/4" and stayed. No lacing. I did not have my hopes up to high about the quality of this beer.

The smell changed my mind that this could be something interesting. Not huge character, but it had a light malt and lemon smell to it. Slightly Belgian?...

The first drink of the beer was crisp with high carbonation and almost had a hint of wit beer to it. As with the smell, a nice lemon and light malt flavor followed and ended with a crisp, grassy light hop bittering. This beer has a hint of the flavor of an Orval. Weird.

The mouthfeel is very thin and carbonated. Very refreshing taste on a hot afternoon. I would have to say I actually enjoyed this beer and would love to sit in the Caymans and enjoy several.

Not the best brew to have but it staisfied my needs for something other than Bud Light. We took a trip to Grand Cayman last year and it was great. Really neat island to explore. Headed to the Stringray Brewery for a look around. There were no tours when I was there but we did get some neat stuff and a few six packs. They have a neat book with all sorts of coasters and beer labels from around the world. I was surprised to see one for the Vermont Pub and Brewery! Well the beer was quite light in color like a pilsner and had a rather distinct smell. Nice carbonation and a decent head. Moderate lacing and good first taste. Its smell was almost like dirty socks but it got better after a few beers. The flavor was smooth and it went down pretty easy. Not the best beer but it had to do. Everything else on the island was imprted so that equaled expensive. One case of Bud was $28.00 Camanian money. We brought three 30 racks as our carry on lugage. Man did that save some loot. Over all not a bad beer and it would be worth it to have one if you are on the island. I did enjoy the dark better.

I love it when a friend brings me a bottle of brew from somewhere he has travelled, even if it doesn't seem like it is going to be very good. The Stingray Premium Beer will surprise you, though. Out of the Cayman's from a small time operation, this isn't too bad.

You can get a pretty thick head out of this that lasts a bit despite the size of the bubbles, but you really have to force the pour. It is light, like a corona, but maybe a bit more golden. This beer does not smell good, though. Maybe they use desalinated sea water because it smells like old, salty ocean.

I like the taste as you first take a pull. Smooth, tasty, sits well in your mouth with a bit of malt but it has a bad, dry aftertaste that brings that first bit of good taste down quite a lot.

So, I guess that is what surprised me, there are some good moments in this beer. I expected a lot worse.

Presentation: Silk Screen label with Red, White, and Blue colors.
Body-Pours a light yellow. Highly carbonated.
Aroma-On the nose smells of faint hop and that's about it.
Taste- Refreshing, crisp, clean, slight hint of hops.
Drinkability-Very drinkable, but I still prefer the Stingray Dark.
Last thought- I suppose...a decent beer that fits well with the atmosphere and weather of the Grand Cayman.

When in the islands, one wants to experience the islands. On the island of Grand Caymen and in the town of Hell, I came across this brew. It was surprising. This beer was clean and crisp to smell. It had a decent head and a lace that seemed better then the head. Clean and white. The flavor matched the smell clean and crisp. Refreshing on the hot day. The flavor surprised me, considering where I was. It reminded me of several other brews. ABC pilsner to name one. It had a nice light yellow color and seemed to be well carbonated. This beer was good to the bottom of the glass.

Pours a translucent light yellow with a solid 1 1/2" head that sinks to a clinging lace. Smells of faint hop aromas and not much else. Taste is great. Clean, crisp and refreshing. Everything that a Caribbean beer should be. Very faint malt flavors to start, they fade fast as a citrusy hop flavor comes in. Nice light hop bite at the end leaving the mouth craving the next sip. It is very crisp and clean on the palate and highly carbonated. An exceptionally drinkable beer. This is probably the best lager I have ever had (although this may be influenced by the hot island weather and my incredible thirst.) Perfectly matched to the island weather. A great beer for a nice hot day. I wish I could find it stateside.
