Notes / Commercial Description:
An unfiltered golden ale made to chill out summer's hottest days. Remarkably light on the palate, with a soft Pilsner malt character and a distinct citrus hop aroma deriving from dry-hopped additions of Citra hops. Each sip finishes with a refreshing bitterness that invites another. At 4.3% ABV, this golden beauty is a truly quaffable drinking experience.

Bottled dated 3/10/17
Poured about a finger head. Nice carbonation. Nice light yellow slightly hazy color. Very light citrus in the smell, not that the smell wasn't good, it just wasn't very strong at all. Taste is great. It has some bite and a little bitterness that is missing in most Summer Ales. A nice citrus balance and hops with a crisp feel to it and a nice sweet lingering aftertaste reminiscent of a good Kolsch. Long Trail hit this one on the head. This definitely might be my go to Summer Ale this Summer when I'm in the mood for this style on a hot day.

12oz bottle in an Imperial pint glass.

Summer hazy light straw color with a light golden thread or two depending on the light. A sturdy 1-plus finger head, bleach white, leaves wispy lacing. Looks summery to me.

Light citrus and dry grass aromas.

Pilsner malt with some citrus hop flavor. Is that orange and mango?

Light body an soft carbonation; just right for summer ale. Lasting hop flavor.

On target summer ale.

True to its name this is a beer for the summer and has a light mouth feel, with a nice neutral aftertaste the is reminiscent of barbecues long ago.

This was poured into a nonic pint glass. The appearance was basically a light hazy golden yellow to orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than thirty seconds leaving some light stringy lacing sliding into the beer. The smell started off with a light citrus zest and lead into a light balance of grassiness. The taste was sweet to bitter blending the citrus to the grassiness. Lingering sweet citrus leads the aftertaste and ends up leading a wet finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a very good sessionability about it. Carbonation runs smooth and allows a light tangy citrus feel over my tongue. Overall, I say whether a blonde ale or an APA, I’d have it again.

Pretty clear, and softly golden with a white head that lasts well. The nose is fresh breaddy and has a graceful hop floral accented by a light fruity twang. It resembles the kolsch. Is that fruity ester a little too strong? It is slightly "wine like" anyway. Hops are a bit more than modest and the malt is creamy and round but not as breaddy as the pilsner. I would say the bubble gives that malt a bit of extra dryness. The hops are restrained in the finish and show no herbal , just a clean medium bitterness. What is missing is the slight pucker in the kolsch. That would distinguish this beer and it is very subtle. Finishes bitter with hop pepper and crackery malt. A touch too much bite in the bubbles.
Fragrant and mild this is a lovely summer beer.
