-Bot. 01.15.16. Consumed 06.15.16. spiegelau ipa glass.

A: Bright pumpkin colored pour from the bottle produces an antique white head of two inches plus. A light haze factor with a rush of effervesce within, and a longstanding visual retention tops things off. Big sloppy patch work of lacing is left behind on the vessel.

S: Picking up a bit of onion grass on the nose, age? some dry herbal fruit hops of low intentions, short duration doesn't leave much to be appreciated.

T: Grassy citrus hop flavor from the start, with a big, dry toasted bread crust malt backing. Decent bittering factor, tropical semi-dry oranges, herbal spiciness, you can definitely pick up on the Equinox trademark fresh green pepper flair that is as plain as day. Soft toasted malt rounds things out.

M: Warming peppery touch from the equinox and alcohol on the inner cheeks, light to medium range of carbonation on the tongue with a light to medium range body.

O: The equinox provides a very distinguishing, if odd and different hop flavor with the green pepper being dominant. Maybe age played a factor with the softness of the tropical fruit, but did shine with a lot of herbal content and dank orange and green pepper spicing. Not to much on feeling multiples here though, lacked crispness, but worth a try for the unique equinox hops.

I got this beer in a mixed 12pck from a beer store in PA that was near the WV border. It poured a clear yellow with white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had hints of lemon bitterness. The taste leaned bitter with a medicinal finish. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Over it's a decent beer.

Really enjoyed this sort of lite American pale ale with hints of pine. Was a nice old change from the heavy American pale ales.

Bottle dated 1/17/17. Smell definitely get a hint of citrus and some hops. Pours a nice fuffy head. A decent yellowing/golden color with quite a bit of carbonation after the first pour. Definitely nothing complex but this is a solid tasting beer. Very refreshing. I really enjoyed the equinox hops.

Weird IPA due to Equinox hop. Must try one.

A: The beer is murky, but perky gold amber color with a lasting head that washes lace round the glass.

S: that strange hop asserts itself with grass, hemp, weed, and peppery onion - along with pine & faint fruit, not much malt.

T: Grassy and onion grass, dank and odd pot closet, with citrus hop backed by bread crust and apricot marmalade. Complex, but the oddness mars.

M: Oddly peppery, a bit thin, leaves you in dank place. Feels like a bigger beer than it is.

O: Does not invite a second but worth a try.

Decent looking brew. Hazy with lots of carb bubbles rising. Like the smell though I'm having a hard time pinning it down. Slightly dank, citrus and some melon is what I get. I like the flavor, it's distinct to start with a dank weedy taste along with a bit of a hop bite that mellows into a slightly citric and bitter finish. Fairly well carbonation and a slightly creamy mouthfeel round out this beer. I think it's really decent.

LOOK: Pours a crystal clear pale straw yellow with a prominent all white head that has good retention and sticky side glass lace.
AROMA: Strong pungent lemon citrus that seems mixed with perfume as in the kind that comes out of a chemical lab. Not inviting. In the future I will be more careful about getting beers with Equinox hops.
Get some major yeast taste in the flavor along with some bread malts.

I have loved all the prior Long Trail beers that I have had.
This one certainly did "STAND OUT, " but not in a good way.

A well carbonated, yellow-gold color. High rise white fluffy foam, sticky lace, good cover.

A very bold, n' earthy, spicy, citrus....bold ass hop nose. Very dense hop aroma with buttery, but crisp malt balance. Lovin' the equinox hop!!

The flavor has a very peppery, herbal, spice hop tinge, dig the earthy effects of the equinox. Subtle citrus and pine as well, the buttery malt aroma turns out to be much more light and crisp in the flavor profile. Truely allows the Equinox hops to shine. I am diggin' this very light malt/big, earthy hop balance for the pale ale.

Amazingly easy to drink, yet constantly interesting.

Been a go-to since early 2016.
