Hazy and burnt orange. Thick lacing around the rim and a bouquet of pineapple and citrus. The flavor is quite bitter and has a creamy mouthfeel that finishes chalky. Tasty but forgettable, have to enjoy IPAs to appreciate as it's one sided

Had fresh on tap.

Pours the standard Long Trail well-filtered brownish amber with a decent white head that laces and retains fairly well. Grassy, earthen hops dominate both the aromas and flavors, with hints of caramel malts and bitter citrus. Feels.... like an IPA. Overall very average

A very nice hop mash up: Blaze a hoppy trail. I know....it's Long Trail, not exactly beer geek gold. You gotta keep an open mind.....
* update review. 11/24/17.

An ever so slight haze to the golden hued copper color. Big carbonation. A sparse, white, rocky cap of foam goes down slow.* the all white foam is rocky, bubbly but thick, sea foam style. Holds on tight. Excellent and intricate lacing is thick.

There is a distinct, "Long Trail Ale" type malty aroma coming out of this IPa. Caramel or maple type malty sweetness. Otherwise, the hops get earthy, floral and resinous. Pine tree, honey and herbal side notes. * tropical pine and earthy tones with a fall seasonal, roasty and sweet malt aroma thing happening underneath.

The first sip brings in, earthy, bitter and dry leafy hop flavor, becomes slightly fruity with red fruits, sour and tangy, not citrus but more high alpha style wild fruits. The sweet, sometimes sour malty edge keeps the IPA balance a bit out of whack. Since the malty flavor is high in effect, it comes across much more like an English IPA, but with a bigger, bitter ibu.

Overall, very tangy. Sour and sweet malt adds depth but certainly not balance.

* A very earthy, sour and bitter pine hop complexity that combo's well with a much more English-style malty ipa experience. This hop foursome covers some serious ground in the hop flavor spectrum. Pine, earthy, tangy fruits, earthybitter vibes.

Sorry I know I'm probably the odd man out on this, but at this time of the year this beer rocks the backyard relaxer brew. has a smooth simple taste with nice color and foam...plus refreshing is not a question. All of this...and a very nice hoppy smooth taste that is exellent. Remember my opinion doesn't count...just respect it.

First had: on tap at Count Basie Theatre, Red Bank, NJ.

Another pretty standard IPA addition to the beer market. Orange-yellow pour with a thick white head, nice retention, even in a plastic cup. Biscuit malt and piney hops in the nose, and basically the same in the taste. Again, pretty standard all around, not great, and definitely not bad. Mouthfeel was medium, appropriately crisp, easily drinkable. Not something I'd normally reach for, but the best option at the venue, and not disappointing.

This was poured into a becher pint glass. The appearance was a nice looking hazy golden orange color with a nice transparency about it. Carbonation seemed to be barely there but a bubble here and there was seen rising. Rocky white to off white foamy head starts and dissipates pretty quickly. Messy lacing all around. The smell started off with sweet grassiness, sweet citrus, light bitter pine, slight breadiness. All blends nicely. The taste was mainly sweet initially, reminiscent of their other "English" styled IPA but takes in more bitterness to remind me it’s closer to the American style. Sweet to bitter citrus, piney and bready aftertaste. Spicy finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation hits low and allows that spiciness to come back to balance withthe bitterness on my tongue. Overall, I say this was a pretty good offering from Long Trail. Though slightly reminiscent of their regular IPA, this one is just a tad hoppier.

Bitter without much flavor. Bitterness overwhelms the flavor. Nothing to see here.
