Pours a dark amber/brown and leaves the same colored body that leaves a large full two finger white head that lasts a good minute. The body is too dark for any carbonation to be seen rising. No lacing is around the sides of the glass. The aroma has a great combination of brown sugar, molasses, maple syrup and a short roasty nutty aroma. The taste has all of the previously mentioned ingredients combined perfectly. On the palate, the body feels about a medium and leaves a slight stickiness, not bad, nutty aftertaste and finish. Overall, I’ll go out on a limb and say this is probably one of most drinkable browns on the market.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a very dark brown color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is nutty, lots of dark breads. Taste is bready malts, nuts, light maple, hops are present. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a good quality beer.

Into a pint glass, dark chestnut body and brown-tan head of very dense foam. Nose of toast—toasted bread, toasted malt, and a hint of roasted nuts. Flavor follows nose, dominated by toasted malt with some slight sweetness balancing things and a burnt malt bitter finish. Mouth is chewy and a little bit foamy. Overall, a nice toasted malt porter-ish beverage. Enjoyable, would try again.

Murky brown with a thin head.

Aroma: a bit of that maple syrup. Toasted malts. Having trouble smelling much of anything.

Taste: again, the syrup is most notable. Notes of toffee, brown sugar, caramel.

Brown mahogany body with a nougat colored head. Smells of maple, butterscotch, syrup, spicy hops and some alcohol. Tastes malty with milk chocolate, coffee and caramel. Creamy with a splash of bitterness from hops. Balanced, with an ale character that reminds me of why I love brown ales. Love this beer. After one bottle, it's officially in my go-to catalog.

S-toffee, toasted caramel, biscuit, coffee
T-lots of caramel, followed by toasted biscuit, toffee, and dry finish with bitterness providing balance but not lending a lot to the flavor
M-medium bodied
O-really great fall beer that is sessional and different

Bottle from Hannaford,
Reddish brown color with a smallish but long lasting creamy of white head. Caramel dark sugar and a hint of cherry and chocolate on the nose. Flavor follows the aroma and adds a touch of bitter butterscotch. Not bad
