Tap at Bentley pub auburn, for some reason seems they put it on nitro, cause why not, everything is better on nitro right?!! (I'm being very sarcastic), but not as nitro as other beers so maybe a nitro CO2 blend?

Bottom of keg then topped off with fresh keg so could be interesting. Nice creamy 1 finger head when it all settles after lots of foam and some waterfall effect, fades slowly with lots of notched lacing, clear auburn mahogany red color.

Nose toasty reddish malts, coppery reddish malts, hint of earthy spicy hops, all somewhat drowned out by the creamy nitro aroma.

Taste is also muted thanks to the nitro, initial creamy nitro, such a waste, very little bubbles and carbonation. Finally some caramel toasty reddish malts, little biscuit and juicy malt character, little caramel. Mild spicy hops, as well as yeast flavor, little bready. Finish is drier with more spicy hop bitterness, little sticky, grassy hop too, light caramel malts.

Mouth is bit creamy, very small bubble and lower carb.

Overall meh. Seems like the base beer wouldn't be too bad, but the nitro just kills it.

On tap in a pint glass.

A- Chestnut brown color with red highlights depending on the light. A quick fading, 1-finger head left some lacing as it shrunk to a film.

S- Full roasted malt profile. Sweet and bitter. Some light hops.

T- Lots of malt; caramel, toffee, roasted smokiness.

M- Clean sip and finish. Nice carbonation and feel. It's body belies its 4.4% abv.

O- I'll look for this again this season.

Bottle poured into pint glass. Label art shows Jake the bear taking a break from a hard day's work posing with his wife, Martha.

A: Brown and ruby colored. Small head. Good lacing.

S: Roasty and smokey.

T: Follows the nose. Nutty and packed with flavor. Can't believe the abv is 4.4%.

M: Medium bodied with a nice dry finish.

O: I know rating Long Trail beers lower is the cool thing to do but it's current rating is criminal. This is a quintessential Autumn beer and is disrespected. Delicious and perfect for the season.
