Clear golden straw colored body with a moderate effervescent pure white head that faded all too quickly. Is this really even a wheat beer? Where is my cloudy body and big fluffy white head?

Plenty of blackberry on the aroma and light hints of honey. Fruitiness disguises any other aromas.

Taste is definitely not as fruity as expected which presents a problem. Normally I like my fruit/vegetable/pumpkin etc... beers to be well balanced with the fruit being just part of complex body of flavors but this one should use more fruit to coverup a rather bland malt profile. I'm enjoying the blackberry flavors that are present but there just isn't enough. Grainy and bland malt flavors and a lack of any traditional wheat beer flavors really make this a disappointment. As expected hops are making a no show and the yeast fails to produce much flavor as well.

Mouthfeel is crisp with a slightly dry finish and a light bodied feel. Overall, I expect better from Long Trail. I really enjoy most of their beers but Blackbeary Wheat clearly is not made to appeal to dedicated craft beer crowd (the geeks if that's the term you like). Could be so much better but it just isn't.

Long Trail- Blackbeary Wheat

A- Light faint yellow with a small filmy head. Patchy lacing and no carbonation.
S- Sweet lemony wheat with blackberries.
T- Good sweet blackberries/ mulberries with a light lemony touch.
M- Juicy sweet and fruity. Very light though.

Overall- Light and watery but fruity enough to make this a good refeshing summer beer.

12oz Brown Bottle. Pint Glass

A: Pours clear straw yellow with two finger white head which goes away at once. No lacing.

S: Blackberry is fairly strong. Faint hops.

T/M: tastes like a fruit drink with too much carbonation. However this brew is crisp and refreshing.

D: Not to great. Good for the dog days of summer. Light with a low ABV %.

LT BBW was the first 6-pack I legally bought on my own. It was a hot, late summer day and these brews tasted excellent. While my friends give me shit for liking fruity beers, this is one of my all time favorites. The flavor cannot be matched by any other fruit brew i've ever tried. It poured with a minimal head but with an excellent amber color. The fruit taste is not overwhelming like many others which makes them very drinkable. I could down a few 6-packs in an evening without getting sick of the taste.

Great brew, here. On tap in a pint glass.

A- Pale, pale, pale yellow. Not my favorite.

S- Blackberry in spades. Sugary, syrupy, and inviting.

T- Blackberry flavor, concentrated, but great.. blends surprisingly well with a pale wheat ale. The wheat adds some body behind the blackberry and makes it more than a 1-note brew. Fantastic!

M- Crisp, flavorful, if just a bit thin.

D- Insane... keep it coming!

It pours a crystal clear, pale and muted yellow. A finger of loose white head drops in a flash. Lacing is...well, it's not there.

In the aroma, there comes light, tart grain, bready and yeasty. A vague metallic fruitiness is a distant memory.

Upon tasting, a soft push of pale toasted malt and a wheaty bite precede a general yeasty dough note. The fruit is berry but not notably specific. Barely baked biscuit and a muted crispness presage a rounded and airy finish that, at last, serves up some definitive berry, but blueberry more than anything. There's not a lot going on, but it could be worse, I guess, or not, depending.

Light bodied, the wheaty tang and plentiful carbonation liven the palate a bit, but not enough.

It's indistinct, sparse, and thin, but hey, every now and then there's a spark of interesting flavor. Unfortunately, there's never any real ignition. The light character and crisp wheat make it fairly satisfying, but not overly so. That said, now that I've given it a shot, I'll be moving along, thank you kindly.

This pours a pale yellow topped with a decent white head.

Smells of straw with a slight fruit note. I'm also picking up an earthy aroma.

Tastes is sweet but slightly tart with a crisp finish. Very refreshing on hopefully one of the last hot days of the year. Sweet esters and a clean finish. A barely noticable hop presence.

Light body and sweet aftertaste that leaves my mouth dry. The wheat and blackberry adds a good note to this otherwise bland summer-time wheat beer. This is one beer that I look for once the warmer days are around. It never fails to hit the spot.

It looks like Bud Light. Very clear with little color at all.

It smells funky. It smells like sour concert beer.

It tastes like light, drinkable lager beer. It's slightly thicker and sticks to your teeth a bit and has that wheat twinge, but not much. The fruit that's there is faint, very faint and hardly recognizable as blackberry.

Mouthfeel is probably the only thing this beer has going for it.

It tastes like bubblicious bubble gum.

12 ounce bottle without freshness dating given. Pours clear, very light amber, near white, minimal head, that quickly departs, leaving no trace of lacing. Nose is just a hint of powdered sugar. This is a light liguid, with a trace of beer like qualities, including some faint notes of fruity berries. Pricey, slightly fruity, lawn mower beer....

06/05/13 At Rattle N Hum, NYC, on tap. This is a whisper of a beer. The berries are hiding behind the wheat beer character that is disguised as an alcoholic beverage. As an adult beverage this one may disappoint, but as a refresher, hit it & again, as it will quench. It won't inspire poetry or launch a thousand ships, but it may just hit the spot if it's summer & your thirsty...& have to drive home...but just one.

I thought I might give this one a try seeing that I would be able to build my own six pack. I saw this and thought it might be a nice beer to try on a summer day. Well it didn't hold up to expections. Pour out a straw color with some decent size head that settled down eventually. Smell was rather weak. Some blackberries in there but quite light. Taste was light as well. It's almost like a fruit flavored macro. Aftertaste was quite watery as well. Pass on this one. There's much better fruit beers out there during the summertime.

Poured from a bottle into a tall ale glass. Finger or two of light tan foam above an medium amber ale. Smells malty and slightly fruity. Tastes more like blueberry ale than blackberry ale. Good amout of carbonation and refreshing mouthfeel. I appreicate the refreshing quality of the beer and it has definate drinkability.

12ozer bought as a single from Julio's, Westboro, MA. Nottle is inked with 051607 and 60611. Hopefully first is brew or bottle date, and second is a batch or something.

Poured into an imperial pint glass, formed a 3/8" white head over the clear light golden (yellow?) brew. Head is gone pretty quick down to a filmy layer of small bubbles, with minimal lacing. Aroma is lightly fruity wheat, with some slightly off vegetal notes. Taste continues what the nose indicated, but fewer off notions. Mouthfeel is very clean, and drinkability is quite good, with high thirstquenchability. A brew I wouldn't throw out of my fridge, but also not one I'd be filling the fridge with.

A - Pours a clear golden-yellow color with a thin finger of white head and lots of visible carbonation. The head fades quickly leaving no lace behind.

S - The aroma is full of blackberry sweetness. There is just a touch of wheat in the background, but the blackberry dominates.

T - Starts off with lots of sweet blackberry flavor, and a bit of tartness. Just a bit sugary. Through the middle, just a hint of wheat comes through, but again, the blackberry dominates. The finish is again full of blackberry with just a bit of tartness that lingers.

M - Light bodied with moderate carbonation. Very smooth, but also quite watery and thin. The finish is pretty empty with just a touch of tartness.

D - Very drinkable, though very empty. There is not much going on other than some blackberry flavor. There is almost no wheat that comes through, or any other flavor.

I can read small print through my pint glass. This may be the lightest, clearest beer I've ever seen. LOTS of upwardly mobile bubbles from the bottom of the glass. Maintains the paler shade of white head--Pretty good lace.

No blackberry aroma; very little smell of any kind; reminds of children's aspirin???

Rather dry with a touch of unidentifiable berry. No hop, no malt, no wheat. Why am I drinking this? Bland. The aftertaste is lightly sour.

This is not an awful beer, but it is not very flavorful so the experience is poor.

Pours clear yellow - weird, I thought this would be purple or something. Foamy white head eventually dissolves to a ring and thin cap, zero lacing.

Blackbeary - err - blackberry in the scent. I'm pretty sure this doesn't use the actual fruit, the smell is pretty artificial but not bad. Not much else to it though.

Blackberry flavor mostly dominates the taste as well but it's stronger in the nose; pretty sugary sweet. The flavors of the finish are mostly macro-esque - grains, oats, bread. Slightly garbage-y.

Light, slightly spiky mouthfeel.

Not too bad, not too great. Pretty bland, even the blackberry fades over time not leaving much else.

Appearance - I drank from a can most recently but have seen the beer poured on tap as well, it looks pretty standard with a minimal head and light, wheat color
Smell - You would definitely know it was berry just by the smell
Taste - One of my favorite summer beers because of the blackberry, but it is not overpowering and does not make it a 'girly' beer
Mouthfeel - light, airy, perfect carbonation... but not unlike other similar summer brews
Overall - It is a staple and a go-to. Nothing incredibly unique but it would definitely be a treat for visitors and I enjoy it more than other 'fruity' beers
