Long Trial has rereleased Blackbeary Wheat for a limited time. Nice to have this lightly berry flavored summer brew for another go-round.

The appearance has a transparent yellow colored body that yielded a small fizzy white head that appeared for ten seconds and died. No lacing was left. Rapidly rising carbonation was seen. The smell had a decent blend of the blackberries and the wheat, but nothing else. The taste was exactly the same. On the palate, well, hmmm....it was very light, extremely sessionable, and there was an extremely high amount of carbonation that was felt. Overall, I like blackberries, but they seemed to be trying to "blend" it in too well in this beer. Being a "fruit/vegetable beer," I thought they would come out a bit more.

Wanted to like this, but couldn't. Pours clear golden with a quick-faded white ring. Aroma is way overdone berry additive. Does not smell natural. Flavor is similar if slightly better with a little bit of malt. Watery but palatable.

Can from Bert's
Slightly hazy deep yellow color with a decent sized bubbly white head. Berry and spicy cereal grains on the nose. Sweet berry dominates the flavor with a bit of bready spicy maltiness to almost balance it. Feels more like a wine cooler than a beer, but cleanly fermented and tasty.

wheat, yeast, sweet blackberry and raspberry on the nose. taste is the similar, slightly tart blackberry note. its very easy drinking and refreshing, definitely straddling the line between beer and seltzer. best when served frigid cold and enjoyed outside on a hot day. very glad to see this beer again!
