Pours a nice golden color with a thin lacing on the top and a nice medium amount of carbonation.
Smell is a tangy citrus, peppery, lemon-like character with sweet malts.
Taste has a very distinct spiciness that could be almost borderline pepper, but not quite, somewhat astringent in character with a honey character. White grape skin acidity, pear, perhaps a very mild hint of orange and blend of lemon.
The mouthfeel is pretty crystal crisp for a Double IPA. The crisp character is now playing in the same ballpark as some of the lagers and pilsners. To take it one more step, and most may disagree, for SOME reason, this beer reminds me (in a very distant way), of an Imperial Helles Lager from another brewer. In fact, for the D-IPA's I've had in my day, this one ranks at the top of the list in the crisp category, pretty amazing. Mildly prickly, refreshing, and the semi-dry finish is the perfect ending to the perfect sip.
Drinkability? VERY.
Final thoughts: I wish I would have purchased a case of this beer. I've never been a big fan of Long Trail brews, let alone East Coast style IPA's for the most part. (There are some exceptions.) Of the beers I've had in the past from Long Trail, this one ranks at the very top of my list as being their best one yet. Two thumbs up, definitely worth a try.

L: Pours hazy gold under a 1” finely bubbled white foam cap that hugs the side of the glass.
S: Rich malt aromas, fruit, citrus, earthy hops.
T: Citrusy, lemony hops provide flavor throughout on a rich malt backbone and provide a bitter finish. F: Medium body and carbonation.
O: A very nicely done Imperial IPA that is worth seeking out.
