Been a while since i bothered to review here, but figured this one deserved some props. Note that it was a collaboration between GLB and Biergotter (nice work guys!), and they call it a Double Belgian Black IPA. Figure Belgian Strong Dark Ale is as close as i could find for a style... feel free to reclassify/adjust the particlars, with a hybrid style and collaborative ale such as this its hard to pigeon hole...

Anyways to the beer, poured at Bar Volo a couple nights ago... A nice looking black ale, with a nice crema head. Decent carbonation, and nice lacings followed the beer down as i drained the glass.
It was quite roasty and hoppy, with aromas of nougat, chocolate and char. Citrus was there thanks to the hops.
Taste was quite similar to the aroma and very well done. Perhaps a touch heavy on the roast and char. Wish it was a little hoppier, brewed to 70 IBU, but with such a big roasty body I feel it could have used slightly more hop presence. Then again, i have no idea when this was brewed, so perhaps it was there when bottled.
Great mouthfeel, substantial body with appropriate carbonation.
Well worth a try, even considering the price tag. Once you work your way through the draft offerings give yourself a treat and get a bottle if you can...
