Drank this beer on a recent trip to the islands. Drank about 12 at the hotel bar and got pretty lit. Reminded me of Budweiser and thats why I stayed at the bar and consumed, not to mention the bartender was lavishly accepting my 25 cents tips per serving. I finally gave him 5 dollars cause I felt bad. Anyhow, the beer was robust and filling. Ate conch bites at the bar with these little gems. The next day, however, was a nightmare...deep sea fishing on the ATL and nothing to hydrate me at the hotel that morning. Tried to drink some OJ on the boat, but it was warm. Couldn't go any longer and a protien spill resulted. Will never, ever drink the beer again.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a pint glass.

The color is a light gold with a slight white head that went away quickly. No lacing at all

The smell is pretty strong with some sweet corn flavor and and bit of a grainy rice flavor. Some hops do seem present.

The taste is as about the same as the smell. It is grainy and pretty abundant with a corn, rice and a bit of hop flavor.

This beer is not the best craft beer and would not be categorized as such but is a really fun light beer for hot weather.

my sister got this and a few others on her honeymoon, and brought them back for me. bottle out of the fridge poured into a pint glass. pours a super clear straw yellow with some bubbles at first. a quick disappearing foamy white head. no lacing to speak of.

pretty skunky at first, sweet corn, light grains, thats about it.

in the taste you get some light grains, sweet corn, some citrus as well. pretty standard macro we got here.

light body, watery, thin mouthfeel, somewhat creamy, high carbonation.

very easy drinking for those hot summer days, goes down easy if you dont mind the taste. although not on the bottle, i believe its 5 %abv.

Poured from a bottle into a chilled pilsner glass. Light gold color with a large amount of white foam. Hint of floral smell, not unpleasant. Tastes like mass market lager. Alright mouthfell with good carbonation. It's 90+ degrees and it is very drinkable.

Poured from a clear bottle into a weizen glass. Has a pale yellow color with a 1/2 inch head. Aroma is a little malty and slightly skunky. Taste is crisp with slight bitterness but not a lot of flavor. Feels light and bitter in the mouth and has average drinkability. Overall not a very impressive beer.

Best Before: 09/09.

Appearance: Pours a crystal clear, yellow body dotted with a few stray bubbles but no real head formation.

Smell: Clear bottles sure can make for ghastly, nose-melting skunk aromas. Given a few minutes to dissipate, you get some sweetish, light malt hints and a discreet whiff of floral hops.

Taste: Sweetish, light cereal grains taste. Faint floral hops with a very low amount of bitterness. Finishes dry, crisp, and clean.

Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium-low carbonation.

Drinkability: Perhaps it'd be a might bit better in a lush, tropical vacation destination surrounded by babes in bikinis. Lobsters would be a good idea, too. Otherwise, it's just another bland, boring lager.

Aroma - The corn and skunkiness is pretty dominate

Appearance - Pale clear yellow with light carbonation and a thin white head.

Taste - Very sweet finish. Corn, graininess with no noticeable hops.

Mouthfeel - Thin watery and needs more carbonation.

Drinkability - Yeah it is drinkable but that's not going to mean you'll like it.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a pale yellow color with a very thin head that fades almost instantly and leaves no lace on the glass.

S: The aroma is of light pungent malts, adjuncts, grain and a tiny bit of hops.

T: The taste has very little to it, some grain and malt breadiness and some adjunct sweetness. There's a very mild hops presence. The after-taste is slightly bready and slightly sweet.

M: Crisp but not very smooth, light body, medium-to-high carbonation, clean finish.

D: Not tasty at all, doesn't go down very easily, not filling at all, mild kick, not a good representation of style, this is simply not a good beer in any way.

I tried this one quite a few times while in Nassau. Has a golden color with little head and very little lacing. Not a huge aroma to this one, a hint of malt, adjuncts and even less hops. Tastes about the same as it smells, nothing really sticks out to me about this beer other than its abundance and drinkabilty. I think the bottle says its 5.0%abv. I'm not surprised to see the low ratings, but you have to rate this beer for what it is. I say mission accomplished for a solid brew.

Drank this while in Nassau.

Poured from bottle into a glass mug.

Color is an extremely light straw color. There is a thin head which quickly dissipates.

Aroma is "clean" with a slight almond nuttiness.

Taste is very light, but there is a bit of sweetness and a slight almond flavor. Virtually no hop character at all.

The beer is thin, but I hesitate to call it watery. While the flavor and aroma are quite light, this beer does have some worthwhile attributes. Being such a light beer, it is certainly an easy drinker. I couldn't see drinking this back in the states, but, given the warm Bahamian breeze and my broiled grouper, I found this cool, clean beer to be quite refreshing.

A) light yellow with tiny white head

S)a little sweet but a little skunky...

T) a little more hops than a typical macro but watery

M) very light

O) in a blind taste test it would be tough to distinguish from any corona or bud light but it probably does taste a little better since you get it on a beach. Also very easy to put a lot back.

My can had "Premium", also hand carried from Nassau.

A) Very clear pale yellow with a ring of white that lasted, but failed to lace.

S) Mild corn in some malt sweetness.

T) Macro-lager with only a few mild flaws, namely corn and metal. There are some leafy hop notes that provide some balance.

M) Medium to light body and fizzy.

O) A basic workman like brew. Not bad, but not great either.

Pours a clear, pale golden color. There is a lot of fizzy carbonation that creates a very thin white head that dissipates immediately.
Smell had not much to it at all. Just a bit of buiscut smell and a slight tinge of generic hop.
Taste was much the same as the smell. A slight bit of taste and fizziness. One of those types of beers that a lime put into it makes it taste just like a lime.
Mouthfeel has a lot of sharp carbonation to it. However, there is a bit of nice thickness to it.
Drinkability is good because I could drink close to a case of these easily in the heat. However, the taste is so blah that I would reach for something better in the heat, like a Red Stripe or Dos Equis.

Had several of these on my cruise to the Bahamas. Pours a clear golden color with a small white head that left little lacing. Aroma of sweet pale malts and some adjunct. Tastes of some pale malt, light hop bitterness, light corn. Typical macro flavor, but smooth and crisp, easy to put a few of these back in the warm sun. A decent macro and even better since you can drink it in the Caribbean streets!

Bottle thanks to hopscotch. Pours a clear golden color with a small white head. The aroma is full of sweet malts and some light hops. The flavor is decent; lots of mild malt and some light hops especially in the finish. Very clean and easygoing. Actually I found this to be pretty enjoyable.

Poured a medium straw hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was good retention and decent lacing.

The smell featured a musty noble hop and a light adjunct sweetness.

The taste was typical of the style with a slightly livelier hop than most. Pretty moderate malt-wise.

The mouthfeel was toward the fuller side of the style.

Overall an above average macro lager.

Drank multiple Kaliks on a recent trip to the Bahamas. Clear bottle with a straw colored beer inside. A few quick swirls show off a fizzy white head. Have not seen this in the states before.

Smells like your basic island lager. Light malty scent combines with some corn and, wait...whats this?!...some hops?! What a novel concept.

Delicate balance is maintained well between light malts and a noticeable amount of hop flavors. Highly carbonated and tastes like it has some corn adjuncts in it. Quite refreshing.

I'm not going to go so far as to recommend trying this beer, but I have no problem at all drinking this one at a tiki bar on the beach. I'd take this over many of the mexican brews.

Beer of the Bahamas. I got this one in a trade. Golden colored, crisp and very refreshing. Flavor seemed a little watered down, but nonetheless this is a smooth, easy drinking beer. Certainly beats a lot of other pale lagers out there. Drink this one in the sun.

Eh, a decent beer that I really enjoyed when I was in high school...I generally do not like this beer, but it has a distinct taste that I crave once in a while...The note is a grainy/earthy note that really appeals to me when I need refreshment. I must add that this beer is a good beach beer!

Twelve ounce bottle that was purchased in Nassau, Bahamas and consumed on 07/09/2008.

My mother picked this one up for me on her cruise through the Bahamas, and to be honest I just never did get around to trying it. I grabbed it out of the fridge last night as I needed something light to drink during the grilling of dinner. The pour was rather uneventful, a dull golden yellow, with a touch of orange highlights came through on this one. Nothing much ion the way of side glass lace, and a smallish, maybe one inch high head of white foam came over the top, faded fast, and left a bare, crystal clear liquid in front of me.

The aroma was dull grain and corn. Musky with not much depth to it. Your classic American macro lager. The flavor went equally no where fast. Nothing much to speak of as it was just rather bland. Lots of bready malts, with a musty taste, sort of wet cardboard like in nature. Decent carbonation on the profile, but overall it was far too thin. It was an easy drinker, only because of the light body and low ABV, but why you would want to have another, well that I am just not sure of.

Overall not terrible, but just right above that line . I appreciated the effort of bringing this one back, and it was better then the other two I tried, that I have to admit, however I think I will have to pass on any future endeavors.

I was just informed by a friend that this is apparently pronounced 'click'. Which is good, because the pronounciation in my head sounded like 'cow lick'.

A: Pale, pale straw color, minimal head.

S: Nothing in particular. If I were to describe it, it just sort of smells like 'beer'. Mostly cereal and steamed rice malts with a moderate sweetness to it. No distinct hop smell.

T: The first taste is water. The second is...water. I could go for a run and use this as a thirst quencher. Theres some, but not much, malt sweetness and just a dash of bitterness in the tail end.

M: Like crisp spring water straight from the source.

D: If you want a beer and can't be bothered with taste, this is your guy.

Had quite a few cans of this while vacationing with Alewife last week at Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort.

Pours a clear, pale golden color, with average carbo rising up. Head was quite minimal, mainly a thin white layer of bubbles which lapsed quite quickly. Lacing was also on the short side for the most part. Nose was a touch bready, but mostly had a grassy hoppiness emanating forth. Somewhat on the mild side, overall. The body was close to medium, surprisingly, with a light touch of prickliness in the mostly smooth feel on the tongue.

Kalik has a subtle sweetness coming through at the start, in a corny type of manner. A little breadiness is present here, too, with lots of grassy, earthy hops dominating the taste, though not really overly bitter. Quite dry in the finish, this isn't too bad, overall. I can drink a few, but then it gets a bit tiring. Found it to be a bit better than I recall Red Stripe being....

This is the Bahamian equivlent to Bud. Kalik is by far the most marketed beer in the Bahamas. Unfortunately the marketing is all that it has going for it.
Piss yellow in color no head nor lace. Just a few bubbles rising.
Very little aroma and I can't get anything but a musty smell.
About par with BMC. It does have a crisp flavor and mouthfeel to it.
If you want to drink a Bahamiam beer as a novelty then I'd recommend one of the others. Lucayan Lager if you can find it.
