Not the largest selection of Micro Brews but a really SOLID selection, plus the nicest staff you'll ever meet. While the staff are not beer nerds, they'll give you opinions on what they've had or tell you what the "regulars" think of certain beers, they make up for what the lack in beer nerdom by their friendliness and good natured service. This is my usual haunt for beer buying, and if they don't have something ask about it, they'll try their best to get it in.

They have a full selection of Smuttynose, Brooklyn and Magic Hat beers, and a really solid selection of Dogfish Head and Victory brews, complemented by a rotating stock of other delightfully (sometimes smaller) micro brews.

I've noticed recently they've been starting to get in more and more "big bottle" and special release beers. Which is a definate plus.

Also they usually have Growlers of Blue Point chillin in the fridge.

As mentionied by other reviewers their is often dust coating the bottles but honestly I think this is more the nature of the place, and I don't think the dudes care too much about going around keeping things clean. I have never gotten beer there that taste like it was past it's prime.

Small place , Beer was laid out in no particular order.Had the misfortune to purchase a 4 pack of beer that was out of date. I should have seen this coming when I seen a Stone Enjoy by 9 months out of date still on the shelf. Will never return.

I saw on BeerMenus that they carry Samuel Adams Tetravis which for some reason is impossible to find in my area. So i called and they said they would put aside bottle for me. I made the 35-minute trek there and picked up my Tetravis along with some other brews. The vibe was weird but then again it's a craft beer shop. they had a lot of different breweries, 4/6 packs and bombers, no singles which is a minus for me. Also important to check dates as there are shelf turds there. service was great aside for putting aside bottle helped me out with other brews as well. Overall was definitely worth the trip.

Stopped in here once before Peekskill Brewing opened. We had some time to kill so we figured we could check this place out. There is a decent selection of beers on the shelves. All kinds to choose from. The vibe is pretty much like any typical distributor. The service was ok.

I was buying quite a bit at this place - admitedly being careful about dates - until my wife went there and inadvertently bought a six of FW Pale 31 with a date of April 2014 on it. Accused her of leaving it in the car for a week. Wasn't even asking for a refund just an exchange and had the receipt. I fllowed up with a call and was told that noone had been in there to make an exchange and that they would NEVER have somthing that old on the shelf. I asked him to pull a six off the shelf and sure enough it had a date of April 2014 on it BUT continued to maintain that noone had been in there to make a n exchange

I wil never set foot in this place again. Too much stuff that sits around and as it turns out no concept of customer service

I remember the joy and awe I experienced the first time I stumbled upon Beverage World years ago... my wife and I were visiting the contemporary art museum across the street, saw this place and decided to check it out.

Who would have though that nondescript liquor warehouse would be filled with craft goodies?

It is disorganized and sort of crazy in there, but who cares. I find it exciting, lots of nooks and crannies and corners to explore. There is at least one big aisle devoted to craft beer and some scattered shelves here and there.

Because the locals drink mostly Bud and Bud Light, some vintage gems linger on the shelf. I spotted Brooklyn Black Ops, Stone RIS 2010, Stone Vertical '09, Redhook 8-4-1 Expedition '10 and Sierra Hoptimum '11.

Their Belgian selection is also excellent, with lots of hard-to-find 4-packs of Maredsous, Grimbergen and others.

Quality is not so great- Beverage World is famous for dusty bottles. But shop with care and you'll be rewarded!

Service is good as far as the checkout process goes. Nice smiling guys, they will give freebies (a glass or two) if you spend enough. But I don't know that they could help you with specific beers if you ask.

Prices are outrageous. Three bombers cost me $28. Everything here appears to go for $1-$3 more than, say, Whole Foods in NYC. Go figure...

Still, I love Beverage World and will always come back when I'm in or around Peekskill.

If you heading west, this is one of the first businesses that you come across in Peekskill. They have ample parking, which is always a good thing. From the outside, it looks fairly typical of some other well aged package stores. Once inside, you will find Troegs, Unibroue, Sam Adams, DFH, Left Hand, Ithaca and others in addition to the majors. As someone else said, it is dusty, even some of the newer beer. Aside from that, the staff is very friendly and I was glad to pick up a few things here when passing through.

I stopped in at Beverage World for the first time about ten days ago to look for the newest Red hook offerings. They had the latest seasonal as well as the 8-4-1 which no one else in NY has. Selection of other american craft brews was quite good and prices were reasonable.

Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I asked to buy an opener and they threw in two and a beer glass for free.

Location was out of the way, but the selection and service makes it worth leaving the beaten path to visit!

Located on the seemingly main drag in this very depressed Hudson Valley town.

From the exterior it looked like a building in need of a facelift. The interior was cramped to the point where one should be cautious to not come into contact with the literal walls of cases so as to avoid be crushed by the inevitable beer avalanche (in a bad way unfortunately).

The selection was pretty broad, with the usual suspects and the west coast beers that are now a staple of nearly every half decent place in the state. The shelves, although cluttered, were at least organized by brewer, which made things a bit easier.

I went in looking for the Dundee Craft Pack, featuring the new stout and kolsch, and I might as well have been talking Chinese. They were not aware of this new pack, and were unfortunately still pushing the old format.

Prices seemed in line for the general geographic area, but certainly not geared toward the immediate neighborhood.

Stopped by after grabbing a number for Capt'n Lawrence Cuvee de Castleton release.

It is a store that isn't pretty - but I don't care about that too much if there is good beer to be had. They had a good selection of American craft. Nothing too crazy, DFH, Stone, Brooklyn were well represented along with Bear Republic, Anderson Valley ans many smaller breweries. Smallish Belgian section as well as German and British. I did find a couple of German brews that I had never tried and one Belgian as well so I picked up a few things.

Some of the bottles were pretty dusty so shop with care.

A nice fellow asked me if I needed help so I asked him a few questions but he didn't drink beer so could only convey what he had heard from other customers.

my first visit to this place today was very pleasant indeed - looks like a typical beverage distributor when you pull up to the place - walk in the door and there's some premium craft beer within arm's reach - the center aisle has a great selection of craft, in quantity -
i picked up a 6 of oaked arrogant bastard, a 4pk of old rasputin, some green flash west coast ipa - a brooklyn local2 - some sa imperial bock, dfh palo santo maron - dfh wwstout -green flash stout - 2 bombers of avery maharaja - a southern tier gemini - and a great divide hercules dipa - - they threw in a brooklyn tulip glass, a dfh snifter, and one of those sam adams glasses - cool! - they let me use the 'employees only' bathroom - i'm excited to find this place (thru beerfly here) so close to home!

I consider myself somewhat of a regular here. The three guys that own the place are extremely nice. There are also a few younger guys who know exactly where everything is and will help you find whatever you are looking for as well as help you carry it to your car.

The selection is great. They have every mainstream brew you can think of as well as an incredible micro section. Their prices are extremely reasonable and they are no strangers to the occasional freebie (I've racked up 2 Weizen glasses, a limited edition bottle opener and a set of six Stella Artois glasses). If you cannot find what they have they will gladly order a case for you and have it within a few days.

Lastly this place does have some importance for the homebrewer. I am new to homebrewing and went into Beverage World to ask Al, one of the owners if he was selling any of the empty bottles that they collect (they have a TON). He said of course he would sell me a case for a few bucks but they don't separate the twist-off's from the non-twist-off's, so that was up to me. They do however separate the swingtop bottles from the rest and sell those for a bit more.

All in all, these guys know their stuff and are extremely nice. Beverage world is the place to go.

Not the prettiest place but a good selection of Micros. Dogfishhead Captain Lawrence, Allagash, Southampton, Southern Tier, Omme ect.

The best selection in Northern Westchester I have seen yet.

Good service, they kept asking me if I needed help. At one point, as I was checking each Micro bomber on the shelf, a young kid comes up to me and said, "If your looking for wine we don't stock any." I replied, "no I drink beer."

I guess I look like a wine guy!

Then I started chatting with Al, one of the owners, who is one of the nicest guys and very helpful. He gave me a free glass.

I was hoping to find Blue Point Growlers which others had wrote about in previous reviews but sadly they do not stock them anymore. I guess with a 30 day expiration date they would not sell before they expired.

The prices are great. Cheapest I have seen in the area. That combined with the great selection and great service makes this a place I will continue to visit.

I've been living near this place for about 5 years, but did not discover it until two years ago. In that time the quality of their stock continues to grow. The service is excellent. If they don't carry it, they'll order it and not mark it up as some kind of premium product. I often find something new and untried on their shelves.More then enough micro brews and craft beers to keep me from wanting. I recommend this place to all beer drinkers, from the bud man to the more discernible brew head.

Day 11.
Do I think it's a coincidence that small pieces from equipment are now beginning to turn up missing? No, really, no, I don't. All right, I'll go, I've got to get out on the road now anyway and find a west to east corridor across the Northern half. Shout me if you need me, 40 minutes to Peeekskill...
And well there's Beverage World, right on the side of Rte 6 there. I could just stop in quickly, well, okay, maybe just quickly, yeah. It's a strange little building, not too newish or cleany like I like my bevees to be. Mountains of macros and an aisle of mostly many micros, local (Brooklyn, Southampton, Riverhorse, Keegans), regional (DogFishHead, Victory, Middle Ages, Southern Tier, Cooperstown, Ommegang, Davidson Brothers, Harpoon, Sam Adams, Otter Creek, Smutty, Long Trail) and beyond (Lagunitas, Stone, Avery, Flying Dog, Anderson Valley, North Coast, Anchor, Sierra Nevada, Goose Island). An end cap of bombers of Bear Republic, Avery, Stone, Rogue, etc. and Blue Point growlers in the fridge.
Not too thick on the imports, Belgians anyway, and even the German and English selection was fairly mainstream.
Service was okay in that someone said "Can I help you find something?" after I had circled the beer aisle twice. Nothing crazy that I'd come running here for, although I was surprised to see Blue Point growlers this far out of Patchogue.

This is where I go locally for beer, as it's right down the street from my local supermarket. When I first started going in there, they didn't carry that much of the better beers, and what they had was old and dusty. I turned them on to BeerAdvocate, and asked them if they had Storm King Stout. The next week, I stopped in, and they had ordered a case of it. They have started carrying Stone, Bear Republic, Goose Island, Blue Point, Southhampton, Keegan Ales, and a bunch of other good micros! If there's anything I want, and their distributor carries it, they'll get it for me, no problem. Every time I go in now, one of the owners comes over to show me what's new. True, they don't have the depth of stock that Half Time has, but, on the other hand, I don't have to drive an hour to Poughkeepsie, either! They do mostly macros, of course, and they walk that fine line with the micros of how much to order, which ones to stock, are they gonna sell, or are we gonna take it in the shorts? They are trying, and always very helpful, and they deserve your support if you're in the area!

What a gem. All of the other liquor stores in ritzy Westchester County have only crap beers. This place stands out!

I found World Wide Stout, 120 minute IPA, Stone beers, a full selection from Brooklyn Brewery, Anderson Valley, Allagash, etc. Amazing.

My only concern is how these beers were being kept. This place is a tiny shack in the middle of nowhere. When I was there it was 90 degrees outside and most of the beers were just sitting there on the shelves with no refrigeration. Also, some of them seemed old. If you're like me, you'll stick to the heavy stuff to safeguard against staling...

Luck for them, the service rocked. A 20-year-old kid who was definitely down with the microbrew scene helped me out. He was friendly and cordial and you could tell he loved introducing people to good beer.

Check this place out if you live in the area. It's one of the only good beer spots around.

This looks like your typical macro dispensing Beverage joint. Upon entering I was pleasantly surprised to find a better then average selection of real beers. The good stuff is located in the middle aisle to the right. Stone, and a lot of domestic micros on the left and a decent selection of imports on the left, Chimays, Germans, Brit ale etc etc. A major concern H/E is the DUST on bottles, not sure (but I'm skeptical) about the volume this pace does on the craft/micro stuff. So buyer beware....anyway I picked up a few singles from Middle Ages that looked fairly fresh. They also stocked 2 selections of growlers from Blue Point. This place is worth a visit if in the area.
Note...10-8-05 they also seem to get a case or two of the Harpoon 100 barrel series brews as they come out, an added bonus, as I just moved closer to this place, I will be visiting more often. Friendly owners/guys behind the counter is always a plus.

Depending on who is at the register when you check out, this ranges between an average and a great experience. Once picked up a case of Paulaner Hefe Weizen and the cashier made sure to give me a 1/2liter grand pilsner glass to enjoy it with. Bought another and he gave two fine pilsner glasses. Picked up a case of sam Adams Dopple Bock and he gave 2 pint glasses. I only say all this because some folks there really aim to please and make the beer drinking experience a pleasure. The average customer there is looking for a bud, smokes and a lottery ticket (I confess, I sometimes buy a scratcher myself). However there is a really fine selection of microbrews: e.g., Victory, Dogfish. And a nice selection of imports. Hopefully, if you grab a case, the guy with the stash will check you out...and send you home with some nice glassware in addition to resonably priced beers (if not you will still be pleased!)

12/12/05
The occasional freebies aside, this place keeps getting better and better. The absolute best customer service. The owners take the time to tell you about new arrivals, and to let you know what they have ordered and expect in. A relatively broad selection: Stone, Bear Republic, Middle Ages, Victory, Dogfish, Rouge...and on and on. Definitely best place in the general area of Northwestern Westchester. The selection of Stouts continues to improve!!! I go in here at least once a week.

3/30/06
They now also carry Avery, Stone (a larger selection than before), Anderson Valley, Ommegang, Flying Dog, North Coast Brewing, Keegan, Lake Placid, Wolaver's, Chimay, Southampton, St. Bernardus 12 cap, Corsendonk, etc. If they don't have what your looking for, ask and they will try to get it in.
