Pitches forth ink black, edged with gradients of murky purple. Nearly headless, but a tan froth shows up for a couple moments.
Oily dark chocolate and baked prunes on the nose, backed with suggestions of mocha, and oats, and traces of vanilla.
Slides in slick, touting medium roast coffee, baker's chocolate, and burnt dark breads. Oat appear with a light flaky sweetness. Turns fruitier, with notions of smoked prunes, all awash in the pool of java and cocoa. Recedes with continuation of greasy darkness, with a minor counterpoint of herbal bitters.
Self-lubricating down the gullet. It's on the thin side, but has a satin shimmer that glides it along without any effort at all.
This is a fantastic session stout, and sets my hopes high for the revamped brewpub/brewery.

12 oz bottle purchased at the brewpub.

Pours a dark brown with amber/red edges and an off white head that leaves some scarce lacing and a frothy head atop the beer.

Smell is heavy on coffee, cocoa, and roasted malt.

The taste is underwhelming, the mouthfeel is quite watery, but the flavor is mostly black patent malt with some chocolate and coffee notes, some hints of diacyl. The carbonation is too high as well.

This brewpub seems incredibly average from the 3 brews I've tasted, here's to hoping they aren't content on just pleasing the macro crowd and actually put some work into creating bigger, less watery beers.

Pours black, and sports a heavy brown head.

Aroma is thick with chocolates and coffee. Very nice.

Flavor has a burned, bottom-of-the-cup coffee flavor, sweetened and bittered from baker's chocolate. There is a small amount of cream or butter than adds a slickness to the whole experience. The flavor is big, bold, and pleasingly complex.

Mouthful is just a tad too carbonated, which gives it an odd feeling since the beer seems a little watery.

As a favorite style of mine, this is very drinkable. Any harsh flavors you might pick up resonate wonderfully against other flavors. It makes you go back for more.

The brewery should be quite pleased with this, I certainly am. I love the strong flavors. The only downside for me is the feel of the beer, which can be overlooked. The best beer I've tried from the brewery!

Had an absolute pile of these on tap lately. I switch off between these & Guiness and this has a shit ton more flavor when compared side to side. Pretty standard appearance for a stout.

It is on the more complex side of the Oatmeal Stout realm with multiple flavors competing - chocolate, coffee, roastiness, caramel sweetness. More sweet than bitter.

Mouthfeel is a fuzz overcarbed & watery, not as slick as an OS could be.

It finishes very nice with no off flavors lingering. You can really enjoy several in a row. Overall a very drinkable beer.
